dealing with bad calls...

There are various kinds of bad calls...

Those that are honest mistakes, and the other person thought the ball was out. Maybe he was running too fast, or the ball was difficult to see.
those calls that are compulsively called to win some points, and use it to annoy the opponent.
And the ones I am having the most trouble dealing with are the "picked" bad calls, in deuces or advantages... specially when they the opponent makes more calls his way on pressure points during the last games of each set.

How do you deal with those?

Thats the bummer about sports. You just gotta get ahold of yourself and forget about it. if it is on a big point it is rough, i know.

Point is over move on focus on the next point. If you allow yourself to keep thinking about that 1 bad call you're level will start to drop off because you are not focusing.

Remember, all calls are good calls. Practice this, you will be surprised.

If they are blatantly cheating just call a serve that lands in the middle of the box "out" and go from there..

im usually pretty genorous these days and it doesnt bother me. if its close i often ask them what they think and usually they say out or replay the point. if you know theyre doing it try and make them feel as guilty as possible. some even tank the next point because they know they cheated. i remember though playing junior tennis i actually walked off during a match because they were so blatently cheating. they would call aces id served in by about a foot out and even when i remember being up in the set something like 4-2 all of a sudden they were up 4-1, people i knew even commented to me after and told me they were cheating alot.

If you really believe this, you really really need to practice what I suggested.

Are you talking about lessons in life as well as tennis?

I mostly agree with you, but if you are match point down and put a shot a foot inside the sideline and an evil opponent calls it out and takes the pink slip for your '56 Chevy, that's a BAD CALL. 8)

I have to agree with this. If you are playing doubles, be sure to let your partner know you are going to do this ahead of time so that they don't overrule you. Also be prepared for a pretty significant confrontation. That said your opponent with get the point and you get the chance to let them know that everytime that they make a bad call you will return the favor. You can both do this and no one will get anywhere or you can both just play tennis!
