Can Chanda Rubin do this?
If not, don't compare them!
He just sounds so weird sometimes. "We have a delicious match for you today..." describing it like a hot fudge sundae. What's wrong with Cliff Drysdale, one of the preeminent tennis commentators of the last 40 years?

The man's tirade about Chanda is also as nonsensical as that — not based on anything wrong she has done. What's wrong with Cliff Drysdale, one of the preeminent tennis commentators of the last 40 years?
I actually like her commentary on TC.I thought Mary Carillo was the worst, maybe Cliff Drysdale. But Chanda Rubin has them beat by a country mile. It's painful listening to the nonsense coming out of her mouth.
Huh? Chanda does a good job. She's a lucid, precise communicator, provides solid insights on both tactics and players' mentality, and she isn't self-aggrandizing like many former players are. The only issue is that she can sometimes be a bit dry, but that's fine. She knows her strengths as a broadcaster and sticks to them.
I could feel my IQ dropping while watching thisCan Chanda Rubin do this?

Huge Fines without the city permission. (10 K plus)Why doesn't she just chop the tree down?
Amazing find…Can Chanda Rubin do this?

Why did you make me watch this? Can Chanda Rubin do this?

so disturbing...but I don't mind his voice. I think Ted Robinson was the worst for me. he loved to call Gustavo Kuerten "Guga." Made him sound ridiculous even though I know that was Gustavo's nick name.He just sounds so weird sometimes. "We have a delicious match for you today..." describing it like a hot fudge sundae.
Maybe the 40 years part, at this point in time. What's wrong with Cliff Drysdale, one of the preeminent tennis commentators of the last 40 years?
Strongly agree with this! I like Chanda Rubin and have learned a lot from her.Huh? Chanda does a good job. Someone Google Map her house. I guarantee she has a non tree covered patch of grass there. Why doesn't she just chop the tree down?
I imagine you're in your teens (no criticism intended). For anyone much older, Cliff is almost universally considered a great commentator. His pairing with Fred Stolle in the booth in legendary. He just sounds so weird sometimes. "We have a delicious match for you today..." describing it like a hot fudge sundae.
Got it. Anything that happened 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, etc. is utterly irrelevant. You live in a truly rich world I see.Maybe the 40 years part, at this point in time.
He's been pretty bad lately you have to admit. We all know, well, most of us know that he's a legend, but the fact remains...he's not performing as well these days. I guess you've gotta let the legends decide themselves when to quit. They've earned it. Too bad some of them are too old to realize they kind of stink.Got it. Anything that happened 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, etc. is utterly irrelevant. You live in a truly rich world I see.
Haven't seen this beforeCan Chanda Rubin do this?

Not at all, I just meant he’s just showing his age a bit. I grew up listening to him, I think he’s been great.Got it. Anything that happened 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, etc. is utterly irrelevant. You live in a truly rich world I see.
Strongly disagree again--like all three especially Jimmy Arias--must have something to do with which side of the Equator one is on.No one worse than Shriver, Stevenson and Arias.
That is flat out incorrect. There are tons of worst commentator threads here, going back almost 20 years. Drysdale is mentioned in MANY of them. So, he's not "universally considered great."I imagine you're in your teens (no criticism intended). For anyone much older, Cliff is almost universally considered a great commentator. I have to agree for sure on Arias. Extremely knowledgeable, and as a former player he really knows what he's talking about and truly gives his opinion as a no nonsense kinda guy.Strongly disagree again--like all three especially Jimmy Arias--must have something to do with which side of the Equator one is on.
That is a hilarious description of why I don't like Chanda, milquetoast all the way. I also like Arias.Nothing against Chanda but she's not my cup of tea. It's like reading a column by Jon Wertheim. Gosh darn bubble gum fluff for dummies. Now where's my People magazine..............
Not a fan of Mary but that is HILARIOUS!What. No seriously... what!? Like what even is this, why was it aired, why was it allowed to go on for as long as it did, why cant i stop laughing? I lost it at "For the first time in seven years, you can actually pull your car into the garage cause there’s no sporting equipment there anymore. Not even the inflated raft that hasn't seen action since the baby duck rescue of 1997"
