Man oh man . I still remember the day I got these back in the day!
Still to this day the best shows I ever had.
most comfortable shoe ever . Durability was awful but my god they were gorgeous. I’d kill for a new 2020 revamped more durable version but I’d take the OG one as well .
Basketball nike has made some serious amazing shoes . The aesthetic of Nike tennis has gone down low , in my opinion as of the last years ..
this shoe in the pic provided ( Nike air trainer 1 original was their best cross trainer ever . Now if we could only get them to make a new version :)

Yes. I like this. Currently wearing a re-issue in red for after tennis sessions. Found the insole to be too think so had to swap out for something more comfortable.

Very very flat footed shoe. Agree with adding an insole with an arch. I loved watching McEnroe play in these and I have a few pairs. There are plenty out there with many cool color ways. However, on the court I feel they are outdated. Not for competitive play.

Yeah the durability no good . But the look was perfect now all we need is one that is shaped more like a natural foot shape instead of a rectangle box .
they could re make the air zoom trainer with more of this look ! Be awesome!

Pretty sure they did bring it back a few years ago.
I think they did too . But not in red accents only the chlorophyll green . And if they did re release the red “ it was like 17 of them only in Toledo Ohio .
man . Gosh I do love this shoe ! I’ve had many pair over the years.green and red too. Personal I love the red more .
matter of fact we were talking about this in my pro shop .. and we realized I have way too many black / white / gray / red tennis shoes . Guess those are my go to colorways.
Here as of late . I’ve been using low top outdoor basketball shoes as of late . They are durable enuff for me as I do not compete / match play . The reason why is cause the tennis shoes have a different arch shape than a ton of Nike’s b ball shoes . Where the Nike hugs and curves inward into the inside arch shaping the natural lines of your foot ALL TENNIS shoes I see do not . Matter of fact they tend to “ bell “
Outward and give the shoe an unnatural shape with too much of the shoe material hanging off the side . All slouchy and sh%#^..
I HATE that. It looks terrible very ugly . And gives it an outdated aesthetic.
I have no idea why a manufacturer won’t give us a “court shoe”
That doesn’t have all that extra material hanging off the inside arch .
I’d love to know if any Company is making tennis “ court” shoes that have a inward curve in the arch . I’m sure there is a better .. more operative word or phrase for my arch ramble . But I don’t know if one .
I’ll try to post an example

I have the SB50 and Hiroshi AT1s. I wear them on occasions because I don't believe in storing them like a museum. And yes I've worn them to museums too! haha

Agreed too heavy and way too bulky . New sleeker design folks! But this shoe is a HELL OF A “ first draft blue print / good bones shoe . I would love to design a shoe for Nike around this very shoe

Maybe it's a nostalgia thing, but am I the only one who looks at these shoes and thinks "yes, those look hideous"?

Because they look like those light up / LED LA Gear shoes that I used to wear to the local arcade when I was 10 years old.

It is a nostalgia. The people wearing them or apparel designs taken directly from the 80ies and 90ies (denim shorts and purple spandex, really?) are the equivalent of someone driving a 70ies Buick. They might think that it is cool for the "originality" factor, when it is only ridiculous. These shoes are strictly street wear, and even as such have a limited appeal (but that is another matter).
