Decreasing grip on Prince EXO3 Tour 100

Well, I decided to decrease my grip 4 1/2 on Prince EXO3 Tour 100. Grips were takes off and so did the butt cap. Painted the handle and planning to brush it off. See pictures below.

Is the inner metal part the same size at all different grips? It's just the amount of wood around the metal different?

Is plastic grip 4 bigger, so I need to get a new one? No need for the real one. It doesn't matter to me if it's even Volkl, Head....

The inner metal part (the hairpin) is the same on all racquets of the same type (for example, all Prince Exo3 Tours will have the same size hairpin. Different brands have different shape/size hairpins (although they look similar, and some can fit pallets of other brands) But, yes, the Hairpin is the same size, and the amount of foam is what makes each grip size bigger (or with pallets, the thickness of the pallet, makes the difference of grip size)

What you are facing, is the frame you have. Doesn't use the pallet system. It uses a molded handle (molded with PU Foam. Which is a type of foam). You can try to sand it down to the grip size you want. Or, if someone knows of a pallet that fits, then you would have to totally remove the foam. Then try to fit pallets (Prince doesn't make pallets, and I know for sure, Head pallets don't fit) It is also annoyingly difficult. But there are companies that will remold a new handle for you. Depending on where you are located, will determine how easily you can find a place that does this and the price.

[1] Try shaving, but hard to do right
[2] Use really thin replacement grips
[3] Try @Geoff and see what he could do, but you have to send the frames off
[4] Search the forum; you may find someone who has reported on doing this sucessfully

I've done it. Made grip 4 1/4. Butt cap is still good, stable and not too big.

So far so good...

You can take the PU mold off (Use a flathead screwdriver or chisel) and slap on a set of Volkl pallets. It will change the shape of the handle, though. Volkl R pallets will give you a rectangular shape handle, whereas the Volkl S pallets will give you a square shape that is closer to your original Prince handle.

Actually removed the butt cap and brushed under it also. That's why I said it still fits nicely. Would't go any smaller.

I see, they also sell grip replacement pallets. I'm satisfied so far, but could get butt cap from the link below. Wouldn't complicated for other rackets, but this one is pretty special....soft etc.
