Juan Martin Del Potro and Novak Djokovic have both won the US Open title once each.

Who wins in a best of 5 final on Arthur Ashe between these two titans?

Novak in 4. Delpo won because Fed wasn't so consistent anymore in 2009. 2008 or 2007 Fed would probably have it in 4 sets because he wouldn't have let the set and a break go to waste and the match would have started by Fed being up 2 sets. I think 2011 USO final Novak would do about the same. Win first two sets and then lose 3rd and then win the 4th.

The same could be said about Novak 2011. He won because Fed wasn't as consistent anymore. And we know exactly what happened for Novak from 2007-2009.

Del Potro 2009 was good. Nadal was good too (would win the AO in awesome fashion a few month later), yet he was slaughtered.

Djokovic wins. Federer probably should have won that match, mentally let it slip. Djokovic of 2011 wouldn't do the same.

Juan Martin! djokovic needed luck to beat an even older Federer in 2011. In 2009 Fed won the channel slam and was in good form and most of all YOUNGER at the USO09.

Why this question backspin ? :) Djokovic beat Del Potro at Wimbledon and Shanghai (Del Potro in God mode there), so that's your answer ;) Del Potro US 2009 is no better than Del Potro 2013 IMO.

del potro has like one career win over Novak, unless you count the olympics. Novak would win regardless of the scoreline.

Pfft. Del Potro would blow Djokovic off the court. I don't think anybody could have beaten him that day. It was one of those meant to be sort of situations.

Del Potro 2009 USO was the same as the Soderling in 2009 FO or Gonzalez in 2007 AO. Each play the best tennis of their career.

Djokovic in 4. Novak is a terrible matchup for Del Potro. By the way Michael Nadal why do you sometimes call Djokovic "Djerkovic" other times Novak or other times by his actual name? Does it all depend on what side of the bed you get up in the morning? After all you seem to dislike it when people call Nadal by derogatory names. Was just wondering.

Delpo would blow that pusher off the court in 3 or 4 sets. Old man Federer nearly beat Novak. Delpo took prime Federer to the woodshed.

SOG in 4 sets, Nole was in unbeatable form at that time. He'd make Del Potro look like a midget, and always has.

First of all if you think Djokovic is a pusher you obviously haven't watched him play. Secondly just because Federer was "old" at the time doesn't mean he can't still produce the type of tennis he showed in his prime-it just means he can't produce it as often.

1. Novak is not a pusher. Far from it. Please educate yourself and stop posting this misconception.
2. How is Delpo beating Fed in 5 "taking him to woodshed" and Djokovic beating Fed in 5 "nearly beating"?????

When Djokovic is playing well he has proven he can take everything Del Potro has to throw at him and still win. Djokovic just tends to handle big hitters well.

Federe had two match points, Djokovic closed his eyes on a service return that went in, even surprising himself. Djokovic was lucky to win that match in 2011.

Can't wait for your pro-Djoko biased response...

MN is biased and hypocritical. Please ignore him.
