It's fans like these that **** the **** out of me. Did you see something like this on the nadal-djokovic match, or atleast to that extent? So annoying.

people watched the nadal-djokovic match cos it wasnt boring. this match was crap. nadal-djokovic was the real final.

And yeah, Del Potro is only #5 because he won a bunch of minor tournaments. That's all. Wait a second.... he won 4 in a row, made the finals of a couple, made a few deep runs in some major tournaments (TMC, AO, IW, Miami, etc.) and has pushed his way into the #5 ranking.

thank you.
plus add to that the fact that yesterday he beat somebody's favorite player, the #4 Andy Murray, in straights!

plus a couple months ago he beat my favorite player world no. 1 rafa nadal :D

Roger is in tip top shape. Great Serves, lovely backhand passes, Lovely drop shots, powerful FH winners. This same level is all he needs tomorrow.

Epic Fail
Nadal-Djokovic was a semi final. Djokovic is not good enough to reach the final this time.
I guess You call Verdasco up a double break in the second set and then choking to hand the match to Rafa exciting. you and Verdasco are typical *******s

i will agree with this. i don't see what the point is in smack-talking during a match thread (when there are so many other threads to talk smack on). if you aren't enjoying the match or you don't like the participants, then why bother logging on to the forum??

because that's how trolls get their kicks.
that's where they live.
that's what trolls are all about.

Another lame draw for Fed. A real draw is playing Verdasco and Djokovic on clay before the finals.

Oooh Verdasco, who had 8-0 H2H vs Rafa, yes very challenging .
How about a walkover for Rafa to get into the Quarters? Oh, he actually did get a walkover into the Quarters. What a real draw that is

Del Potro gives the ball right in Federer's strike zones.

he does need to practice shot selection under pressure ... unfortunately, who's gonna pressure him so he can practice?

meh delpo only has 20+ years,
while fed has 27 in august.
let's see whether delpo's shot selection improves as the years go by ... i'm guessing they just migiht! :)

Well what about 17-2 in the quarters, and 4-0 (without losing a set) in the semis?

Yeah Nadal got a lucky walkover to get to the quarters for sure. It's about time? :-P But seriously, you can't argue in a million years that Roddick/DP is in any way approaching Verdasco/Djokovic.

But it's over so it's not even important. The final is left, and that's it. It's a minor tournament anyway.

God, that match was boring.

Nah the match was boring to you because it was devoid of loopy moonballs, one minute breaks between each serve, 20 bounces before serves, bottle arrangement shenanigans, and medical timeouts!

But still nothing can beat reading your posts in the boring department...So congratulations! You are the king of boreland!

Except for Djoko, whom Nadal owns on clay, Nadal didn't face any serious opponents. Both Fed and Nadal had an easy route to the finals. I never said Roddick who has become Federer's turkey is a hard draw. It was Nadal_Freak, who claimed Federer had a lame draw and Nadal had a "real" draw. I was just pointing out they both had easy draws.

Don't bother...I would just copy and paste your signature as a reply to him & Nadal_Freak...:)

"so boring, even the womens semis were more interesting than this one"

Seriously, Nadalator get a hold of yourself; you could have stopped watching. Fed in good form today...

How can you say Nadal OWNS Djokovic on clay? He has BARELY scraped out some of his wins! It's hardly being owned. Nadal has just been a bit lucky at times. I mean match points? That's called a nail biter, it's nowhere near "owning" someone. Same with Verdasco. But to be fair Verdasco did blow that second set yesterday. You know what I mean?

Del Potro usually just kinda rolls over when he has to play anyone ranked above him, so I'm not surprised by the result. I don't think it speaks about Federer's level tomorrow.

I am glad, however, that Federer served well.

By the same token, many Federer fans seem to think all of his opponents would have been ranked number 1 in any other time period, and every winner is an amazing godsend.

When you call it like it is, the diehards like to laugh and shout "heresey!" It's just too weird for me.

Come on guys, do you actually think Del Potro is some tennis force? Or that he's playing well? He's literally been walking around the court with his head down and slumped shoulders.

Tennis force? No,but he's a young top 5 player who has wins over Nadal and Murray this year(who are top notch players). He's top 5 in the world in his proffesion so it wouldn't hurt you to show him some grain of respect.

It seems that in this forum if you aren't Nadal or Sampras apparently you're a crappy tennis player,a joke etc. Ridiculous.

It's more his mental ability that sucks. He just doesn't step it up when he should. He played awful today and walked around pretty sullen looking. I'll be more impressed when he beats a top player who is playing well, something he has still yet to do.

I guess I just don't understand how pro tennis players can still be such mental midgets after getting to that level. It's weird to me. Where is the killer instinct these days?

And Nadal and Sampras are two of the most trashed players on this board, so I dunno what you're referring too. Well really, everyone gets trashed to some degree so...that's just the way it goes.

I don't know about sampras, but certain not nadal.

Well,he did come back against Nadal when Nadal was 2 breaks up,not an easy thing to do.Although I agree with you that Del Potro still has some work to do in mental department. But remember he's still developing as a player so we'll see in the future. He also came back against Murray the other day when Murray was serving for the first set.

Nadal maybe,a lot of people do trash him(doping, ugly game, buttpicker etc.) but Sampras? No freaking way,the guy is a God in this forum. You would get the impression that he never lost a match in his career and hit an ace on every BP if you read this forum.

But he did step it up against Rafa in Miami. I don't care what Rafa said... yes he didn't play fabulously, yes he gave up a double break lead, but Del Potro fought for that win. He himself thought he played the best he ever had... And he just beat Murray as well. He has lopsided records against all the guys, but he is getting better every tournament. His movement is improving, his net game is improving, his serve is not too bad. He's a pretty good player. I'm not a fan and even I can see that.

Again, I love Federer/Nadal finals. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I want that in every tourny. In this one, I want Roger to win, but I ... don't know if he will. The serving gives me a lot of confidence though.

I like TaM, we've had a couple of disagreements about Tsonga's on court attitude, but I think he's sound and fair in voicing his opinions and is civil in his posting manner.

I can agree that the match was, well I wouldn't say bad, but perhaps sub-par for a semifinal of a masters event. Maybe a little flat, but that was to be expected after the mammoth match before it really.

I do genuinely think DelPo is a bad match up for Roger though, for one, his consistancy is a great weapon against a lot of players but I think it allows Roger to find his rhythm which is obviously dangerous. I also think the fact that he hits fairly flat means the balls stay a lot more in Rogers comfort zone, Fed's rarely stretched in terms of vertical contact point, it's only if Delpo works it side to side that he's able to put on the pressure. As a result Fed gets a lot more freedom to dictate points and to mix things up with his shot choices, and that in turn makes life very hard for Delpo.

Thanks man, I try. I know I can be obnoxious sometimes with the way I post, but I try and control it as best I can. People are far more important than tennis results, so we shouldn't go around mocking or berating each other for differing opinions. That's the epitome of being foolish.

That Nadal/Djokovic match was such a snoozer. I left halfway during the third set because I couldn't take the boredom anymore.

I suppose you're being sarcastic. After all, you ARE a Fedal fan, aren't you? I wouldn't call it a snoozer. It was more intense han Fed's match, that's for sure, and there were many nice points. But Some very boring rallies as well too.

i'm laughing out loud (though i don't even know if you are serious or joking). either way, i took off midway through it as well. :)

Verdasco? Are you serious? The same Verdasco who was leading 4-0 and went all sissy boy? The same Verdasco who lost to Federer twice this year?

NF, why do you have to ruin every Fed match thread? You will get your chance to celebrate tommorrow, but why don't you, out of respect to Federer fans, let us have our nice moment of celebration? I don't remember any Federer fans coming to ruin the Nadal/Djokovic thread.

Del Wee Wee did the dirty work by taking out Fed's nemesis Muzzah and then tanking the SF. LOSER.

I am. I did leave halfway through the third because I had to go to the airport and stupid flight wasn't late. I was angry and mad the entire way there because I was missing the match. If definitely wasn't a snoozer.

Not serious. I was just doing what vtmike asked in the post above mine.

I guess this was supposed to be funny. It is not.
I apologize. I was just trying to bring a little lightheartedness in the thread. I'm sure it's obvious that I was never bored during the match. I think I posted in the thread about how fast my heart was beating during the second set tiebreaker.

So losing to #2 in the world 6-3 6-4 is now considered "tanking" here? Do you know anything about tennis at all? Fed is a bad match-up for Del Potro just like Murray is a bad match-up for Fed,tennis is about match-ups,always was and always will be.

Feds a bad matchup for Roddick but at least he tries and takes a set. Smell the difference.

To be fair, I don't think Murray is as bad matchup to Federer as people say. Yeah he's a bad matchup, but not an impossible one. Fed's mental game is the worst matchup for Federer.
