Why is anyone surprised? This is how it's been, and how we knew it would be, and how he said it would be. He just said in an interview that he JUST started hitting his BH a few days ago.

He's doing just fine for a guy who a) just came back after a huge layoff; and b) has no backhand.

Chill out everyone. Let's just hope he keeps rehabbing well and doesn't sustain anymore injuries, and maybe he can make a dent at RG.

Not necessarily surprised but frustrated. Usually, when a player comes back from an injury, he is fully recovered without serious pain. However, in Delpo's case, he has debilitating pain on his left wrist, limiting him to just using forehand. It's not like he's going to find the rhythm and get better as he plays more, but rather, the fans should worry if his wrist can hold up after playing matches. That's why everyone seems so worried/frustrated, I guess.

Someone should tell Kuku that he's facing a rusty guy with almost one wrist, his fist pumping is getting a bit annoying.

Poor guy, I cringed every time he was forced to hit a backhand.

He shouldn't have returned so soon.

Yeah, bit painful to watch but he likes his tennis and only he knows when is the right time to try.
As long as he's not re-injuring it, prob a good thing to get back on the house...

Looks tough for Robson same surgery at same clinic but she had the opp on her main playing left wrist...

Horrible display by Del Potro, considering what he was used to be. Kukushkin played well, but let's be honest here, he is just fine as a player. Del Potro should eat him alive without even trying hard. It is painful to see him hitting BH slice all the time, hopefully he will get better as the year advances, but I wont get my hopes high about it

Kukushkin was the aggressor out there and he did play well, Delpo undoing was too many unforced errors.

Cheers
