Denis Shapovalov to Yonex

Anyone knows how to get the sv95 to his specs of 335g unstrung (with og) 30.4cm balance (according to user @ProStringing)

i tried using the twuniv tools andthe lead placement didnt match since the lead placement (suggested) was at 10/2 and there is no visible at shapos.

i have a sv95 hanging around andwould like to try these specs. Any tipsare appreciated. Cheers and good luck to all at the sf!

no wonder he makes so many UE's,, it is too heavy

When I had the Vcore 95, I had it modded to almost same specs as Shapo. It was pretty easy. Changed the grip to leather and some lead tape at 12 ( it was around 7-8in long). Mine was 330g 30.5cm unstrung.

But he doesn’t use a leather grip (anymore?)

Doesn’t appear so unless he has black leather. Did he use leather preciously? I suppose leather could still help replicate the weight/balance but the feel would be off.
Idk, and I doubt it since his Six One didn’t have leather as well before Yonex. Yeah, maybe so, but you could always add in silicone/putty under the BC for that.

now nobody is critizising him for using yonex racquets I guess. lol
Only the djoker is just to superior mentally and with his footwork which make him win the Wimbledon title again instead any of them nextgen

The new custom 18x20 string pattern makes sense for him since the 16x20 SV95 is pretty dense as was the 18x20 Six.One 95 (2015) edition he used as a junior.

It looks like he's starting to get some good results with it too. I personally think it's because of the chunkier/thicker throat of the Ezone. Since Shapo is known to have very high RHS and RPMs that leads to shanks and miss-hits a lot I think the Ezone is slowing his swing speed down just enough that he's making better contact, the bigger head size is more forgiving for him, and the natural power of the Ezone helps accentuate his aggressive attacking game.

Although I don't know why he didn't try the Vcore SV98 as it's basically his SV95 in a bigger more forgiving package and other pros like Tabilo, Machac, and Kudla use it so we know Yonex still has the mold on offer.

Players usually respond well to a coaching change for the honeymoon period. Maybe it's from getting a new perspective.

I noticed that he's doing well this I door season, and chalked it up to being healthy. Wasn't aware that tipsarevic is coaching him now.

Why did Yonex make him a custom 18x20 ezone when they could have dusted the old Vcore Tour F 97 (16x21) for him?
I think the Ezone is due for a new iteration to be released in 2025. Potentially Yonex gave him a prototype of a new model? Overall it's better marketing for them to give him a new frame they can sell than dust off an old mold they would have to put a pj over and especially one with a very unique and noticeable string pattern.

If they were going to give him an old model I would say give him a Vcore SV98 (used by Tabilo, Machac, and Kudla) or the Dual-G Pro 97 (used by Tiafoe), both 16x20 string patterns the same as his old SV95, in a larger more forgiving headsize, and models that Yonex clearly still has the molds of since they are still supplying them to other players on tour.

damn… they glossed the hell out of shapos aqua night ezone

not the aqua night pj. But definitely very glossy

Yeah while watching the Belgrade 2 highlights his racket looks like it´s all black. Certainly it´s not.

Troitsky is Djocko Academy head coach a very good philosopher
Maybe one of his quotes finally made Shapo take note he is no longer a youthful atp promoted nextgenie

I agree the SV98 is overlooked beast for OHBH with the throat being a smidgen narrower than the SV95 for some strange reason closer to an APD or PD throat.
I just love seeing an 18x20 Ezone it is typical of Yonex that is the leading brand that keeps giving its customers the real deals pros use.

Shapo getting tips from Tipsy, Janko was all over the place loved philosophy as well
I wonder how he got funding for his very extravagant yet beautiful tennis academies?
They dwarf Novak Academy which is tiny and next to coal power or some kind of dirty incinerator tower.

Looks awesome!

Does it leave any sort of residue on the racket or hands? Is there any smell to it? I usually use alcohol and rag to clean off my rackets. Would the alcohol rub off the paste?
Yep it leave some white residue as probably most car polish compounds But is easy to remove with water and soap.

he's changed today in Dallas to a grey string whether that's PT Strike grey or ALU Power or something like that idk

Shapo did use ALU Power in a Six.One 95 as a junior but it looks a little too dark to me to be ALU. I'd say he's probably sticking with his Yonex sponsor and switched from PT Strike Black to PT Strike Grey as he has a history of using round polys but with an outside chance he's trying PT Drive Silver.

I'd guess strike grey.. it's more darker like confidential and hawk touch. It's also a touch firmer than black.. I think blue is the stiffest ime.
