Diadora Blushield Torneo 3

would you guys say these are geared more towards wide feet? i wonder if that's why DrZ is so in love with these? lol i just got the barricades in and they are surprisingly narrow (which is great). for $60, these are a super bargain, i keep reading mixed opinions on these, as far as how wide (aka clunky) they are for people with more narrow feet. thanks!

Would definitely try my hand feet with the B.Icons (especially the 2nd generation) or Flys instead

Just got them. I went a size up since they dont have wides and I think these may work. They don't feel too long in the toebox and when I use the runners loop that I use with my other pair, they hold my foot in very snugly. Awesome.

And the blue colorway looks fantastic. These are such high quality shoes.

EDIT 2 - actually the more I wear these, I think they are too snug on me. Once I start running, I can see the side of my pinky toe getting rubbed..stupid hobbit feet. I guess I will have to wait on if they ever release a wide size again. And go with Babolat SFX and a good insole short term.

Hmm this has me thinking maybe I shouldn't order. I've got tailor bunions (bunion on pinky toes). Might just wait for some Mizunos to go on sale.

I just bought some more Babolat SX4s. They just work. I will wait until Diadora hopefully releases wide versions again.
 
I'm returning the SFX4s. They hit funny on the medial side of my forefoot. Got some Torneo 3s a half size up from my usual for $60. Did I read somewhere the length runs a tiny short?
 
Had the 2 and loved them. Just bought the 3 in exactly the same size. They are comfortable. But after 90 minutes i had a bloody blister on the side of my big toe. Had normal socks on. Might give them another chance to break in a bit.

I too just ordered the clay version of torneo.
Icons are great on hard court. Like a perfect balance of not too wide, not to narrow.

Foot doctor Zach had these and icons both 1a and 1B in his top 5 shoes. Diadoras are great quality from my opinion as I used the flys a while back.

I got my Torneo 3's yesterday and unfortunately I'll be sending them back. Much to my surprise based on my previous sizing experience with the Diadora Fly 4's, they were way too big. I got my Fly 4's in my typical size and they fit very snugly; any smaller and I would have had to go up a size. For the Torneo 3's I was just swimming in them at that same size. The other issue I had, and why I won't just be re-ordering a smaller size, is that the protective plastic/rubber coating on the upper over the toe area really seemed to dig down into the top of the joint of my big toe when I flexed my foot. I had a similar issue with a previous Asics Speed shoe. These sort of plastic cages that manufacturer's seem to love on the front of the upper does not work for me I guess. Not sure why I didn't notice that with the Torneo's when looking at them on the website but oh well...I'm thinking of trying the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 2's in the clay model next.
 
Yes, volumewise the Torneos are the most spacious of the Diadora top end shoes, then comes the B-Icon 3 and the mesh upper Fly 5s is the least voluminous. Same for toe area width, the Torneo has the widest splay area followed by the B-Icon3 then the pointy Fly 5.
As for the TPU uppers, I find a shoe stretcher with specific spot stretching works well enough to make it workable. Still that is why I like mesh uppers with TPU protection in the important areas. Yonex TPU cages are a little softer.

So I got mine. Haven’t played but tried on.
It kinda reminds me of the new balance Ct rally (prior version). The right shoe seems a little stiff around the outside of the arch where I don’t feel that on the left so my guess is break in is needed.
They’re true to size - not too narrow in the toe box. Some room to breathe. I can already tell the insole is going to be kind to my plantars fasciitis. The icons are a gem for my feet.

They needed a break-in for me, but now they are very comfortable. I use them with custom orthotics. I plan to order a second pair, in blue this time.

Yeah I had the flys a while back and when the treads went I still wore them for walking my dog and such. Great comfort. Should never have left. My feet are happy.

Think I'm going to try the Wilson Rush Lite clay next. those look more meshy in the upper.
 
I really want to try these shoes, as I am seeking more cushioning and comfort than my Nike pairs, but man, these are on the opposite end of the spectrum from Nike when it comes to style or "coolness" haha

Did you go the same US size as previous Torneos? Was there a difference in the width or shape of the toebox compared to previous generations?

I did the same size for Torneo 2 and 3 - 13.5 US (my normal size is 13). That's EU 47.5. Torneo 2 had spacious, super comfortable toebox and a lot of heel sleepage for me. Very comfortable, relaxed fit overall. Torneo 3 is more snug around toebox, but comfortable, with almost no heel sleepage. I still do runner's knot, just in case. I actually found Torneo 3 to fit me better (I have medium to slightly narrow feet).

I recall Torneo 2 requiring no break-in at all, and with Torneo 3 it took me 2-3 hours to break-in.
