With Zverev winning the inaugural WTF of the Diamond Age its time to look at this years race for the top 8. Thiem and the Big 3 are all but locks for WTF leaving 4 positions. Diamond Age has 7 strong youngerer contenders bolded below.
1. Nadal R. 5550 +45
2. Djokovic N. 4770 +45
3. Federer R. 3905 +45
4. Thiem D. 3315 +10 (Thiem and Big 3 pretty much a lock at this point)
5. Tsitsipas S. 2995 +10 (peak Recent Elo of 4 on May 19th)
6. Medvedev D. 1810 +45 (peaked at Recent Elo 6 in April)

7. Nishikori K. 1755 +45 (peaked at 4 back in February)
8. +1 Fognini F. 1595 +45 (9 in Recent Elo, but likely to fade a bit the rest of the way)
9. -1 Zverev A. 1590 +10 (Recent ELO of 4 back in February, now 11)
10. Auger-Aliassime F. 1436 +45 (Recent Elo 23, but rapidly improving)

11. Monfils G. 1350 +10 (Recent Elo of 7 back in April, but injuries mounting again, 22 right now)
12. Bautista Agut R. 1305 +45 (Recent Elo of 9 back in April)
13. Berrettini M. 1275 +45 (Recent Elo of 10)
14. Wawrinka S. 1220 +45 (Recent Elo, but 9 before grass season hit)
15. Coric B. 1145 (Recent Elo 21, was 8 last Fall)
17. -1 Isner J. 1105 +45 (Recent Elo as high as 8 after Wimby last year, currently 15)
18. Pouille L. 1095 +45
19. Raonic M. 1080 +45
22. Goffin D. 975 +45
24. Fritz T. 960 +45
25. Cuevas P. 953 +45
26. Khachanov K. 920 (Recent Elo 18, but peaked at 5 last Fall and finding form after illness and racket change first part of 2019)
56. +3 Anderson K. 565 (probably too far back)

Who can break up this Diamond Age hegemony? (Remember, Thiem and Big 3 are part of the early part of the Diamond Age which extends through the next decade.) Seven youngerer Diamond Agers could easily take the last 4 spots as all have been good enough for top 8 Recent Elo. The best spoilers would be Wawrinka, Nishikori, and Anderson if he makes another Wimby final. Monfils, RBA, and Fognini unlikely. Goffin and Isner also have a shot and poised for Wimbledon runs.

How do you have the energy and will power to post this after the shameful debacle of a first round by these trash players? Try as you might, you cannot speak into existence the changing of the guard from these players—they simply don’t have it in them.

Look on the bright side

Someone from cubic zirconia gen will win the cubic zirconia gen invitational

They have that going for them

So who do you have making WTF other than Big 3? No points for Wawrinka at Wimbledon so his hopes are dropping.;)

A disgusting pusher like Medvedev should be nowhere near the WTF. The final nail in the coffin for the ATP

LOL. Like Bendych rolling in there year after year was some kind of treat.:sneaky:

Med is just trying to replace Roddick with even more pushery and a little less serve; much, much more watchable given Med has a top flight return game unlike Pushdick.

This thread is about the race the Christmas Exho. So far we have no takers on even someone predicting a non-Diamond Age player to make the top ten.:sneaky: Remember, Thiem and Big 3 are part of the early Diamond Age. Your job is to pick a geriatric or lostgen pigeon who is going to break up the party.;)

@Meles no matter how many times the diamond again let you down you continue to back them.

That's true love! #respect.
Based on rankings they're doing just fine. Zverev has been a tragedy this year and still 9 in the ATP Race though FAA set to pass him in a few days.

Still waiting for on the record votes from the local trolls who at least have the Museum Slam building in their sales. US Open Series should be a Diamond Age romp.;)

Medvedev joins Tsitsipas as a lock for WTF so six spots set. FAA and Zverev were quite lackluster so far on hard courts so RBA with Wimby semi, Nishikori, and Fognini lead the way. Khachanov is picking up steam and Kyrgios a distant threat, but looks like at least one pigeon may make WTF, just let it be RBA and put him in Round Robin with Djoko. :D

In all seriousness, Nishikori's going to make the WTF.
As usual down for the count.

The sweep is still on with Berrettini and Zverev carrying the Diamond Age flag for the 7th and 8th position. Standings:
7.Bautista Agut R.2485+90
8.Zverev A.2435+180
9.+1Berrettini M.2365+180

10.-1Goffin D.2325+90
11.+2Fognini F.2235+180
12.-1Nishikori K.2180
13.-1Monfils G.2170+45
14.Schwartzman D.1860+10
15.+1Isner J.1760+90
16.+1Khachanov K.1695+90
17.-2Wawrinka S.1670
18.Auger-Aliassime F.1636

Fabio is still in the hunt. Khachanov and FAA are on life support. Most players are off next week, but not surprisingly Khach is in Moscow defending his title and Fognini is in Stockholm. Goffin and Schwartzman play in Antwerp. Isner is not playing again until Paris so he's eliminated short of winning that tournament.

Goofin is in fine form so Zverettini need to win their next matches which will get them Masters SF and another 180 points.

Fognini has a clear shot. But with the Fog you never know if he's gonna go all the way like in Monte Carlo or crush out in R1 losing to some mug.
