The TC90 is a great racquet! I played with it for about 2 months without dropping a set, still thinking the head size is too small for me. The string bed is pretty open and you get a lot of spin as well, but driving the ball is easy as well.
Yeah, it's a beauty. I bet you were blasting the ball with that thing. Today I smoked a backhand winner down the line that prime Dominic Thiem would have been proud of (well, not really, he would have laughed at it, but relatively speaking, it had some heat...). And, effortless pop on serves. It's definitely a cool racquet. Makes me glad I never got rid of it.

Yeah, I sold mine too fast somehow.
It was kind of a string eater though. I put Poly Tour Pro 130 in it and it broke after 5 hours indoors carpet. Which never happens.

By the way, I forgot to write which racquet I used.
I played with the FC Original 27.25 HHRough at 20x19. I just play so well and easy with it. I can just swing at 50 percent and that ball is enough to not offer my opponents any chance for easy attacks without risking too much. Like for real, this was such a revelation for me, to notice that my normal tennis, the actual ball I can play over and over, without muscling the ball or over hitting, is actually enough to keep up and even beat really good players! This is so important to learn.

So I think I limit my option to

1. BP16 - similar plow, maybe better launch angle for the price of laser beam

2. Blade 18 - need to mod with lead though

3. Solinco WO 18 and XTD18 - just for the sake of experimenting new brand, heard rave reviews

A React custom has been ordered in 305g, 99 head, 16M and 27.25. Trying to unload other frames to offset this round of holism. Dopes, toalsons and TC100. Yep, I can see you laughing. Poor sucker thinks he’s gonna sell Toalson frames

Im debating a similar React Custom 18x19 99" 27.25 315g/305mm frame as well. I just reached out to Paul to ask what the approximate SW of that config is. Haven't heard back yet.

I have 3 Pro Tours 2.0 and i.Prestige Xtralong trying to sell for the same purpose. I've achieved Nirvana in that i have decided that I'll never need more than 2 of any frame, as I can't escape the inevitable "future" purchase.

I'm realizing that the ISO 305 might be the key to avoiding other racquets. Been playing on and off with it for the last few months and when I switch between it and other sticks, everything gets thrown off.

With leather mine is coming in at around 340g. Forces me to play attacking tennis and it comes through the strike zone so quickly. My backhands have definitely flattened out a bit, and I'm either full western or eastern on the forehand side. It brings out my best tennis when I am hitting cleanly. Feels like I can hit winners from anywhere, while having great touch at the net and still can block back serves without any issues .... on the other hand... there are also times when I come onto court and can't make a single serve and my forehands are completely misfiring worse than with any other racquet. This is more common when I try switching back and forth between sticks in between matches etc lol. I might just stick with it and pray my good matches become more frequent with the ISO if I use it full time.

Completely misfiring worse than any other racquet doesn't sound that great. Doesn't sound like a racquet to commit to.
But maybe give it two months and see where you land.

Nice, but I have a question about your 50 percent swing, as during my first hit with your lighter FCs against my coach I had some wilder (then with my Shift) misses, until he advised me to swing faster ("since it is a control racquet"). He had also noticed that the FC is not forgiven outside of the sweet spot, but (again, myself with the 315g FCs), I've noticed that if I swing faster, even outside of the sweet spot, I kinda cover the ball and guide it towards my chosen trajectory. Basically a lighter racquet lets you come over the ball faster, won't you agree?
My wild misses went away after swinging faster.

Last time when I was missing a lot, with both my racquets of choice, I think it was b/c of being sluggish (for months), post COVID...

There is no racquet I swing slower with than with the FC. It has massive power and the sweet spot is the whole racquet it seems. What are misses? Never heard that word.

With 2 PT 2.0 and a customized mind, you have everything you need for years to come.
Sadly, I lost everything I had during the speed pro bubble of 2022 and now I am a clinically depressed middle aged man who walks for exercise.

Agree 100%. I'll always hold on to 2 each of the PC2.0, PT2.0, PK 7G, my PK C1 Pro Tours, and most likely my Origins as few like to play with them.
But I have 5 PT2.0s currently, so still have room to part with 3 to make room for future frames!

I’ve been drilling this same thing into my head for weeks now. Now I warm up and hit as soft and loose as possible on groundies and serve just to reinforce to my mind that I don’t need to swing hard, just play hard with the feet.

Doing this yesterday I was told it after the match was some of the heaviest I had hit, so it’s definitely the way to go.

Man, still in the tennis center.
I started well, got broken once in the first and lost it 4:6. In the second I found my rhythm and my BH down the line much better, and I played some incredible volleys. I went down a break in the second to 4:5. But I found my rhythm much better, had break points in almost every of his service games by then. I was feeling it, man, and I thought, this can't be over now.
I broke him, made all the returns. 7:5, took it to the CT.
I was up 4:2 in the CT, when I started getting cramps in my legs and in my hand!!! I couldn't hold the racquet anymore. The opponent's team brought a referee, who was a real @$$. He said, I had two minutes to recover, from cramps! Like for real???
I lost it in the breaker 8:10. Man, I am sad as fu€€!!
That sucks. Do you think the cramps were due to you actually working that hard or was it because you were too amped up like Carlitos was at RG?

Yeah. I hit a heavy ball with the 300RS but it also leaves me a smaller margin for error which is why I've been gravitating more towards the Dunlops lately.

Maybe that's the gigantic SW & twistweight of the tfight 305 line?
The 300 RS doesn't have as beefy SW and TW as the 305 but it still doesn't swing as quickly as some of my other frames. Maybe it has something to do with the foam filling? I'm not really sure.

Maybe the difference in weight (yours being heavy and mine only 315g) and even models? PT57A vs 293.1, makes it for different sweet spots?

I ordered one at very similar specs a couple of months ago: React MPP 18x19, 27.25, with the weight/balance (305g/310mm) slightly different than what you are considering. SW came in at 291 unstrung and Paul said that would equate to around 320 strung, depending on string, overgrip, etc. Enjoying it so far; the oval headshape is different than I normally use (primarily Yonex) and took a little getting used to, but seems to have a generous sweet spot. Dimes the serves, very comfy and nice feel, very maneuverable without losing solidity on contact. So far, a keeper. Tennis Nerd gave it a very favorable review.

This Angel React MPP checks a lot of boxes.
21 mm beam, 61 ra, 18x19 string pattern, offers 27, 27.25 & 27.5. Getting some strong reviews, has my attention.

Fast people can still back off, correct? My coach tells me to take balls on the rise, on clay, but it's difficult and I can't drive those.
Yes, but they can't always because then they get too close to the back fence. I usually play on hard court. Taking it on the rise is the only way to go most of the time.

Took the Alu Power Rough for a spin and man is the pocketing great compared to BHS7T. Granted I'm sure it'll be dead and worthless in 2 weeks but it's a nice treat. Picked it up from the stringer and it had already dropped from 46 to 42 -_-

On another note, a different coach started teaching our group lessons and started giving me things to modify on my serve with a greater focus on abbreviated take back to eliminate hitches and better timing of the racquet drop to coincide with the leg drive etc. The effect on my first serve has been fantastic-- way more pace on my first serves and 6+ ft high kick serves.

However, I used to have a really reliable 2nd serve kicker that I could hit with lower pace/higher margin of error where I felt like I could "take something off of it to just get it in". But for 2 weeks now I've been in a rut. I can't seem to find a "safer" second serve any more while incorporating the changes.

I know I can't really get any advice here without videos to analyze etc. but mostly just wanted to vent and feel crappy about a part of my game that used to be a strength but has recently been so frustrating and embarrassing quite frankly. Thanks, guys. /rant

Cramps came because of several reasons, I think.

1. Since the indoor season started, I never played a real match, but only single hour sessions, and only 7 of them, maybe.

2. I have this new fixed gear bike that I rode 300km with this week.

3. I haven't played the FC, except for the 15 minutes the day before, when the strings broke, since September.

4. I was very hyped and was really in the zone, thinking I can actually win this match.

I asked the guy, he is from Argentina, what he is doing here in Germany. He said, I earn money by playing tennis. So, that is his job. Crazy.

I wanted to say two more things:
First, what is so insane about the FC is, that it is completely insensitive to strings and set up. It plays and feels the same whatever I put in it. I had Head Hawk Rough from 27-18 kilos, Tour Bite 125 and 120, Max Power and they all felt and played great. I didn't really feel any difference. Also, all those strings felt and played the same from first hit until the broke. So good.

Lastly, please correct me, if I am totally wrong, but to me it seems like TN puts out a video about a racquet and a lot of people here jump into action clicking buy. I haven't watched a TN Video in months, but Jouke sent me a screenshot of the React thing, so I saw that he had one about it.
But yeah, we definitely need another hype around here. I might be gone with the FC, as it just passes all the tests that are thrown its way, never disappoints.

For me, the tennisnerd review just came out at the right time. There's not many reviews on Boutique frames like Angell. And going through 500 pages of "the Official Angell Thread" is difficult, especially as some people just call one frame "react", or "MPP Pro" or "96 18x20", etc. so even the search function doesn't capture everything reliably. I've always had my eye on Angell frames, having owned the OG Vantage customs some 20 years ago and at least two prior iterations of his Total Custom frames over the years.

The one upside is that TN seems like a decent player similar to my level. There are some other random YouTube reviewers out there. One of whom also reviewed the Angell react 96, but he looks more like a 3.0/3.5 player. So his input I don't really trust.

Ill continue to hype you the PC2.0. it's a great frame despite it's small headsize. Add a touch of lead to get the SW to 340 and you'll love it!

I understand. It is just funny to see that TN puts up a video and at least three ppl here click buy. But it is this kind of thread of course, that I tend to forget. We are here for that.
As for the PC2.0, I still have three of my ten 28 years-old PT600s, that I hit with from time to time. I don't see myself buying that new frame for that kind of money. For 139€, like the PT2.0, yeah, I'd be in, but not for this price.

I canceled my order for the PK C1 Pro, as I think it was never going to actually go through. I think I'll put that $ into a new V5 TC90 instead.

I did just also get the SX 300 Tour in. Specs were pretty damn close - about 311g static and 31.5ish on the balance. Unstrung SW at 305 which is a good start. I will try it out a bit today, perhaps, hitting on the wall. Have it strung up at 48lb with Gosen GTour 3 17L (1.18). Really, this is quite a beautiful frame. Can't wait to see how it hits.

I used to get influenced by some of those vids (not necessarily TN but others), but not so much anymore. I respect @ACT and @dr. godmode reviews a bit more than TN. Still, I practice a lot more restraint now when it comes to purchasing than in the past.

I say this as I just had a 2nd CX200 Tour delivered. But at $100 I couldn't resist in case they screw up the newer version of the frame.
