Once a shill always a shill, can’t wait to give the gravity tour a long lengthy trial

One thing I dont like off the bat (but doesn’t affect anything) is the bumper has those deeper recessed channels like on CAP grommets.

Just makes stringing slightly a pain on the first couple crosses

Hi guys,

I was looking for a copoly with a nice feel/touch that I want to string into my Angell TC99.

After reading many reviews I finally decided to order one set of Head Hawk Touch 1.20.

I used to play with TF Multifeel 1.25 at 25/24 kg tension because I like the great feel of this multi.

However I noticed a much better control when I tried my TC99 with MSV CoFocus 1.18 at 21/20 kg tension. I just dared to hit through much better and through this I played with more confidence.

That's why I want to try another copoly with the best possible touch/feel and control.

I hope the HHT will meet these conditions. I think I'll string it at 21/20 kg tension. Would that be a good start?

Had to evacuate from Northside SaMo, my place is right on the palisades border.

We are safe, a lot of people nearby lost everything. Terrifying situation.
My sister lives in North Hollywood so I stay out there a lot. I was staying at Malibu Beach Club December 10th & was evacuated in middle of the night with Malibu canyon fire. You could see the fire coming down the hill as we were evacuating at 3am. Crazy this is happening again in January. Glad you’re safe & hoping they get a control on this fire!

What helped me was a video from one of the stringers here- before you pull last main, weave in the first 2 crosses. Then you won't have to deal with pushing through a blocked CAP hole.

Truth. I've been stringing so long that I don't even realize I do this. Otherwise a piece of scrap string as placeholder usually works well too

If you like multifeel, what's your opinion on triax (or hdmx)?
I have no experience with Cofocus but thought that Hawk touch is quite on the stiff side of things.
Not much experience personally, @RF_PRO_STAFF is a lover of that string iirc.

I need to give that a try in my gravity pros. I forgot how much I like that string in 18x20 patterns.
It has such a great plush , softish feel without being mushy. Still has that Luxilon identity. It is not very durable for me but no string really is. Tension wise it seems to drop quite fast too however

I have experience with Triax 1.33 that I didn't really like as much as MultiFeel. It felt like a copoly/multi hybrid with a bit weird vibration to me.
According the TW strings database the Head Hawk 1.20 has a stiffness of 196 (whereas CoFocus 1.18 is a rather soft poly string with a stiffness index of 186) that sounds acceptable to me.

What gauge of HHT did you use and at what tension? And in what racquet did you string it?

Wishing the best for all our LA holic bros. This is crazy. Just makes me sad. So many amazing places destroyed.
thank you. had a spot fire down the street but it was handled quickly. i live in a remote area w lots of brush in this canyon. my brother evacuated from pasadena but i think they are allowed back tonight. my parents are in a high warning area but so far so good. unfortunately i know of a handful of people that have lost their homes. LA folks, hit me up. let me know if you are okay

2 months post op a very difficult total knee recovery....i loaded up the car but haven't even picked a tennis racquet i'd take. you can see my suspension sagging. Haven't even loaded any of my bikes.

Winds supposed to pick up again then relax for the weekend with another burst monday-wednesday. Eaton fiber...I think part of the country club i help at got burned but hasn't been confirmed. 2 tennis families from the club have lost their homes. I'm giving them racquets from my inventory.

I just used a Walmart racket in my night league match on a whim and won 6/3, 6/0. The last time I played this guy with my usual racket it went the distance LOL.

I obviously did not tell my opponent that I was using an aluminum Wilson from Walmart as that might have been misconstrued as me not taking him seriously. I do respect the guy but I like a challenge like this, honestly it played pretty great (I did restring it with Alupower Black though...)

You’re obviously better than him and likely win with any setup but I do really think people underrate strings while overrating rackets. The string is the only thing that makes contact with the ball, and as long as you get used to how the frame moves through the air (takes a couple games maybe) then it becomes how the string performs. I’d rather have a $20 racket with a great poly freshly strung than a Prestige with garbage syn gut that’s 10 months old.

i'll take the prestige with 10 month old syn gut. i've tried a PT280 with 20+ year old syn gut and it worked. not great, but it worked.

Finally got the PD21 strung up with Ultra Cable at 53 as per @danbrenner recommendation. Measured sw 336. I knew it felt sluggish as I've used it with rpm in the past, but the number surprised me. Any thoughts from the folks here more seasoned in tweener valley?

Actually the last time I played him was in a summer tournament and the score was 6/1, 4/6, 1/0 to me. The indoor carpet definitely helps my game I think. And yeah, this little $25 Wilson Federer does itself proud in my eyes, I crack a few good ones, particularly when I get rolling in the 2nd set.
I be the one n blue.

Few strings play as smoothly and still have a good touch as Cyber Flash, yes I know it's old and cheap, but it works very well and offers unbeatable value for money.

Triax feeling like a hybrid is a good description, maybe that's why I like it.

I've mainly tried HHT in friend's racquets, 1.25 gauge though and I remember it feeling rather vibratey and stiff. Can't say what tension, so that could change the feel quite a bit. I've some at home that I've been wanting to re-try but havent gotten round to it.
Looking forward to hearing your opinion on it, multifeel is one of my favourite full bed multis.

Sounds like a very soft poly according TW database. Maybe I'll try this one next time. Thanks for your tip.

Just delivered my Angell TC99 at my stringer. Sunday I'll play with HHT 1.20 for the first time.

I bought a Rafa Origin in December but decided to send it back. I’m officially kicking off my 2025 holicing with the TFight 98 305 18x19, Tfight 100 300 & Ezone 100 demo’s arriving. Very excited to try some new racquets before the spring season starts.
Curious about that new TFight 305, this and the new radicals are what I want to test from the new releases. Well maybe the new Gravity tour but I'm sure it's not something I'll like long term.

I had the origins before...prior to my conversion to the Rafa 290. I've debated picking up the Origin again...but I have held strong. The new Tfight seems intriguing...but initial reviews seem a bit all over the place. It's on my radar. I'll also check out the new Diadem frame when I get more info on it

I’ll be giving some feedback after playing this weekend with it.

I have a Rafa 290 coming next week to try. Figured I would weight up to Becket’s specs & try. I got scared of the origin 365 swing weight, but know @tim-ay @Power Player are loving it.

Microgel Prestige Pro is unlikely to be a long term option. Lots of weight in the throat, not much in the head, so ideally I'd add more weight but then it will become too heavy.
The old Pro tour conundrum. God tier weight distribution for slicing though.
While I like the feel it's rather stiff so tricky to get comfort and control.
That said I drank too many beers yesterday which could explain my abyssmal performance this morning.

I’ve really liked TFs in the past including the TF40
