I’m thinking I’m gonna try Lynx and Hawk Touch. Possibly Tour Bite Round as my next string

Element black 1.30 even if it lasted me 2 hours I think that’s still too short of a duration even at the price I’m getting it at. Lynx and Hawk Touch are much more affordable and would still be more cost effective even if it lasted under 2 hours
im guessing you have some Hawk Touch but if not, I’ve got a set of 1.25 and 1.20. Happy to send them to you.

My V5 blades haven't even arrived yet. Yesterday a guy arrived late into my coaching session and set up his gear on the bench while I was hitting with my coach. I noticed a strange racket buttcap and asked him what it was.

It was a Tecnifibre TF-X1 300. He told me I could try it.

I'm over my blades before even touching them and I want one now.

Thats the funky dampener thing innit?

How was it? Not a fan of the wet diaper look of the racquet but am intrigued after hearing Moutet talk about it.

I haven't played with it that much (about 15 mins). But from what I felt it was like a more controlled pure dad that doesn't destroy your arm.

I loved it. It might very well have been a honeymoon, heat of the moment thing, I won't deny it, but yeah.

TF leather has been my favorite lately if you don't want to alter balance too much but want more feel from the frame. They only add about 5g compared to stock TF grips and probably weight about the same as the stock Head grips.
That's good to know, I've never tried the Technifibre. Is this the one that says ATP on it?

That’s a 315 gram tweener correct? If so you have discovered my favorite power frame spec. Keep us posted on how it progresses for you.

I have a TGT345.2 coming in that is fully unmodified/uncut, and I'm going to try and have some fun with this one. Def going TK82 grips, silicone in the handle and leather.

@JGads what is your favorite prestige length? I'm thinking of going 27.2 inches with this one after using my coaches pro stock IG speeds that are 27.25 and the extra power was fantastic.
Well, as it currently stands I’d have to say the 27.165 (69 cm) of my Marins. My drug dealer 808 got these in my hands as well as a Radical that’s the same length and this seems to be a Goldilocks situation of giving you just something a little extra but hiding the length. I never feel like I’m swinging an XL. Still can whip the inside-in. Yet have the added leverage (or placebo) on backhands and serves. I have now tried various Prestiges at 27, 27.25, 27.165, and this latter measurement seems to be just right.

However: the 345 is an interesting specimen for this and I don’t know if the added length will be bad or great. It’s softer and more “bendy“ to me than other Prestiges, and sometimes XLing a frame can give it an even bendier effect that can be too much at times, depending on the frame. At the same time the standard length 345 that I’ve hit lacked some oomph (I hit harder with the more crisp but smaller headed 293 and 312) and maybe the added length would give it just the kick it needs to provide easier plow. The science on this one is on you. Good luck! It’s definitely a luxurious feeling frame.

Moutet was talking about liking it with regards to comfort. I also thought this might be a comfortable pure dad.
How muted did it feel?

I played with mine yesterday and it's a super fun frame. Very comfy and good spin and power. The 305s suits my style better and I get better consistency and control with it. If there are arm issues with the 305s it's good to know there's a frame like the GT98 that I wouldn't mind playing with.

I recently hit both the 300S and 305S - nice modern sticks, just not enough feel/comfort on tap for me personally. I can totally see how its a viable option though, threads the needle between more thin beamed 98s (prestige pro, radical, pure strike) and thick beamed 98s (PD98, PA98, RF01). Tec seems to be doing really well on that launch. Feels like my own proclivities send me in the direction of GT98. Now... to sell my promo PJ or not to sell.... love the way it looks, hate the paint seams in the throat. Decisions decisions

i wont be using my promo , i like the official PJ and matching frames cosmetically. but it is very cool to have and you might regret losing something that cool

'25 EZone 100 (2 of them).

Why didn't I go back to the '22 EZone 100? I gave them to a close friend with the caveat that "I might ask for these back". Then I was to embarrassed to ask for them back. I thought I had ruined myself with those ultra light RF's. But, a little commitment to the '25 EZone and it all came back. Most importantly, my serve is coming back holding about 90% of the time.

I'm back on the wagon and will probably stay there for quite some time as I'm broke. :)

@Pneumated1
Have a 2025 100 on the way for a prolonged playtest (really enjoyed the demo!). Maybe I asked before, but are you adding weight to these at all?

I posted this same one (in the edit of my my post after finding the other style). I actually ordered one to try out. Ive been using an IKEA setup currently which I like but for $17 I thought I'd try it.

The original rack is being sold on AliExpress for $30 something, ships from the US if people need it

Works well! Also, it expands out to double the width, so can accomodate a ton of rackets. Very nice for $18!

It’s a 300 unstrung, so..I guess?

Btw, I have an old widebody slazenger 95 with 315g. I always loved that thing. I might have just found my groove.

I don’t think I played with it enough to make up my mind on that.

it was also after a long session with my Vcore DG100. It didn’t feel as muted as an ezone 2022 I had though, that I can say.

Oh ok it’s 315 strung weight. I thought it was unstrung 315 when I glanced at the specs.Threw me off since the frame is called a 300 but it makes far more sense. Well easy enough to add a grip and lead to it if you ever get bored and want to experiment.

Yes. I can weigh it again next time I remove one if you need a bit more exact numbers. It's much lighter than my Head leather grips though - maybe by 4-5g or so.
Nah, not necessary. I’ll just grab one and give it a go when I need another leather grip.

Yes this is perfect. Thanks guys! So the poles in the middle are easily removable?
Yup. You just don't screw them in. And this model expands to double the width of you have a ton of frames.

The recline angle could be slightly more, but it works as intended. Because it expands in width, i wouldn't recommend it if you plan on constantly moving it about with rackets on it, but it can be done.

All in all i prefer it over my old setup. I'm repurposing those back into their intended IKEA storage solutions

maybe my perception is completely off but am I the only one that finds the Gravity Tour very powerful?
My brother says it's a magic stick for him on serve but on groundstrokes he thinks it has less power than his Percept 100. I know that's not relative to other 98's but it's the first 98 he's used since the Radical MP over a year ago.

The GT will of course give mixed perceptions cause if you hit lower on the stringbed, groundstrokes might come up short and you won’t be getting much advantage from that tear drop shape or open string pattern.

Inversely if you hit at the top you might get too much of everything and find it erratic and hard to control

But I feel like as a whole it has quite a bit of pop and juice to it

I don't find it very powerful but it is powerful for a 98. I've only played with it once so far so my opinion could change but think it's on par with the PA98 in terms of power on actual groundstrokes. Where the PA98 shines is on defensive shots. That thick beam just helps you block anything back. The GT98 though is on a totally different level in terms of feel. Between the 2 I'd lean towards the GT98 because of the feel but it's too early to call this race.

You're referring to the 100 while I had the 100D. I'd say the GT98 is definitely more powerful than the 100D.

305S update:
- RPM Blast feels more comfortable and provides more pop than the Ice Code in this frame. That's my go to string in this one for now. May order another reel or 2 so I'm set for the year.
- I now have all 3 strung up the same but with different specs.
- #1 is totally stock with just an OG. SW is at 319
- #2 was identical to 1 but added 2g of lead at 12 to bring the SW up to 326
- #3 needed 1g of lead at 12 to bring the SW to 325/326 but it also has a leather grip to bring the balance point back down.

Need to play with these 3 setups for a bit to see which I prefer. At this point #1 is just there as my control so I can switch back and see what a stock one feels like. I definitely like the added SW on these as it gives more plow through.

I guess I’m just meant to be with the Adidas Barricade. Every time I abandon it for a while, I eventually start to struggle mightily and then come back and the status quo returns. Case in point against an aggravating pusher type league player

Match 1
(Barricade)- 6/2, 6/2 W
Match 2
(Wilson Pro Comp) - 6/0, 6/7, 0/1 (3-10) L
Match 3
(Wilson PS 6.1si) - 6/7, 6/3, 1/0 (10-6) W
Match 4
(Barricade) - 6/2, 6/2 W

I haven’t hit the GT98 but it wouldn’t surprise me. I’m playing with the 2023 GPro (Aux 2) and it’s significantly more powerful than the 360+ versions. Add in a thicker beam and 16x19 plus whatever layup tweaks have happened and it seems like it would be a powerful stick.

Do you want to try out the GT? I can offer an extended demo. My promo pj won’t see much use now that I have my 4 main frames

With all this racquet storage talk thought I'd post this Ikea bookshelf that I had repurposed earlier this week in an effort to clean up my office. For now it got most of my frames off the floor that were scattered around the room. I need to get another storage item for all my bicycle stuff, although for now I just have my helmets and gloves resting on the top of the shelf.

And yes, that's a TV there which sits in front of me so I can watch tennis matches during the Grand Slams and Master 1000 events. Also for March Madness, etc.

Since I had all these frames somewhat organized I decided to go and pull more out of my closet and bags to see everything I had. Just realized I had a few more in the ADV bag that I forgot to pull out. Those 2 wrapped ones are 2 Ultra Tours that I have been saving as backups.

Random selection on user likes, ending Sunday night 11pm est

The milky white, cream color of Hawk Tour works nicely in the speed

Still much prefer Aux1 pj but this is a nice combo

since lately I have been reading praises about gravity MP, can someone compare it to boom pro or GT98?

my test is getting really late, and still not coming, so I am thinking of just buying one Boom Pro( have a good ofer second hand) and one GT98. but should I put Gravity MP in the mix? just by looking at specs, it looks to light to me. recently I played Blade 98, PS97 and Gravity Pro 2023

The gravity MP was always good imo. If you are used to gpro, ps97 or blade 98 you'll want to add weight but it's always been a solid choice.
