Decided to be proactive around my GE flare up and submitted demo order for new Black Ace Pro & Ki5. Also put a gut/multi hybrid in one of my PSVSs and broke out an old 2023 modified Gravity MP with gut/multi hybrid to play test tonight. Because being healthy trumps not playing at all with my ideal frame (he says as a reminder to himself...)

i had GE for 10 years. I switched to the softest polys in TWs database and my problem is totally gone

I was teetering on tennis elbow some this winter. I changed to Triax/Poly Tour Air recently and my arm feels great. What is even more surprising is that it is a really good string bed. Comfort, pop, control, spin. It’s a worthy hybrid even without arm issues. I’m happy to cut a couple sets and send to you if you are interested.

Appreciate the suggestions and offers gents. I’ve been dealing with GE myself since my college playing days - almost 25 years ago now! - and I’ve been off poly and any multi-esters altogether for years now.

Rest, rehab, PK sticks, and some natural gut have done the trick in the past. It might just be time to return and stay put.

Knowing Lorenzo and Seppi have an espresso ready and waiting helps.

Firestorm is so good, but sadly the playability longevity is not great, for me at least. Signum in general is underrated, and lately I've really been enjoying the white "pure" version of their poly pro plasma.
I’m expecting to break 16g in 2-3 hours. So hopefully playability survives until then. I can’t imagine it’s worse than element which I already like

yesterday finally got a chance to play with Boom Pro (still waiting for TW demos of Boom Pro and Gravity Tour). Played 2 hours of doubles.

after all the rackets I played lately, I must say Boom Pro imediately went to the top of my list. Imediately it felt very good on forehand and I liked the feel. Only shot that didn't get to place yesterday was the serve, but with some couple good serves, I believe it could be done with time and some adjustments.

Now waiting to finally get my hands on the GT98 for test, to compare it with Boom Pro and possibly end the search for the new racket (looked at the new Ezone, but currently I think I will skip it and commit to BP od GT)

The new Aces are beauties. Good luck with the elbow. The last 105 Ace was an absolute hammer of a frame. A lot of fun.

Works well! Also, it expands out to double the width, so can accomodate a ton of rackets. Very nice for $18!

Got It, perfect cheap solution!

Such a nice setup with some cool racquets. I don't think my partner allows this kind of dedication to the holism :D . Or we might have to get a much bigger house :D .
One small thing I love about tennis is that you will always immediately spot the Clay player/equipment ;)

I had TE last winter & had to switch to Head Volocity & Vs Gut/Hawk Rough combinations for awhile. I stopped using my Ezone 98 extended racquet & went to a more comfortable standard length. Once I was feeling better I went to a soft poly, Poly Tour Pro Yellow for awhile. The thing I noticed was the bad vibration in a racquet seem to bother my arm the most. So I started using 5 grams of silicone in the butt on everyday racquets that I could. Some racquets you can’t do this with that don’t have trap door or are already foam filled. I also think a dampener helps, but may just be in my head.

Ps-New Black Ace Pro looks awesome!

If I remember correctly the measurements for Lynx tour is off. 1.25 is measured wider for shaped poly so it’s really like a 1.20
Yeah as stated later lynx tour is very thick. That’s why I thought you may like it. Better durability. I cross it with something else like duraflux, hawk touch, Toroline wasabi x. Etc.

Lynx with a hawk cross is a super nice setup. Adds really nice feel and also keeps things a little less chunky.

I’m definitely throwing it in the mix of things to try. It’s very cost effective for me too. It could even be a perfect hybrid with firestorm crosses. Color wise too haha.

They’re out of champagne 16 for now so I’ll still need to wait if I do commit but for sure excited to experiment. I’m pretty much all out of element at this pt.

Looks like my Diadem Axis should show up this week. I'm kind of excited to demo it but man is it gonna be a world of difference from my BP. I haven't hit full poly in over a year or with a more spin-oriented racquet in almost 2. Gonna be weird to be back on that side of the racquet world.

Sorry random question - any recommendations for replacement grips to add a little thickness to the grip size? I feel like I'm between L2 and L3, and the L2s I'm trying (yonex) could use a replacement grip to make it a little thicker (could add two overgrips, but I miss the bevels a bit)

Try syntec pro like on the Aeros. They are thicker than normal

My Axis 98s should be here very soon too, at least this is what my rep said,

Haven't received my shipping notice yet. I'll have to look into it

This GT98 I got from @Soundbyte was strung with Restring Zero. I've tried it before in some other frames (Regna maybe) and hated it. But in the GT98 it feels pretty darn good. I may have to give it another look at some point.

I just got the new version of the Wilson Burn 100S to try out. I had it strung with Solinco Tour Bite 18ga @ 48 pounds. I will probably break them with the open string pattern, but we shall see. I am not a string breaker. I normally play with a Prince Chrome 100 or a Prince Phantom.

Yay! Got chosen for the TF 300 playtest. It was the only other one I was considering alongside the 305S when I demo'd this range. I don't see it taking over as my main since the 305S fits me like a glove but it will be nice to have that extra bit of easy power in the bag for off or tired days. Can't wait for it to arrive and get the specs measured.

I hit with my daughters coach today to figure out what's going on with my FH. He gave me a few pointers and some praise as well. When I'm messing up most of it is because I'm not keeping my head down through the shot so I'm opening up too much and too early and I'm not coiling enough on some of my shots. When we were rallying just to warm up he said he was immediately surprised as I had more on my shots than he's used to. He said it caught him off guard as it pushed him 3 feet further back than he's used to when hitting with me. My serve was improved too. He said it's almost like my wrist is looser now than it was before. I'm pretty sure that had something to do with my injury and how I had lost some strength in my wrist during that time but tried to play through it. It's like my body just adapted to compensate for the injury but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Basically pulling a Murray with the two patterns in the same mold, nearly same spec. I like that play for a lot of players who want help from their stick but also a touch more control on a day where the more open pattern is sailing. I always thought it would be cool to main the blade pro in this dual pattern capacity. Just read and react to how I’m feeling the ball

With overgrip color is much less aggressive. I like the salmon Hydrosorb Pro tho

I've been thinking about this and thanks for proving me right. The basic grip in that racquet just makes the whole thing so ugly. This one looks very nice and the white og balances the whole thing to be more smooth for the eye.

Made an offer for a PA98 on the fleabay. Browsed around and decided that if there’s one frame I should demo it is probably that one. Read about some people finding an erratic response on the Tec 300s (and saw the prices on it wtf) and decided against it. Cause that was what turned me off the Blade 100 personally, got launchy when going for higher trajectory shots with high swingspeed on clay at least. Ngl still intrigued by the Whiteout v2, but probably more so the regular than the XTD, I’m not sure an almost 10 point jump in swingweight plus extended length will help me in a competitive setting.

I don’t have a ton of time this year as I’m travelling to Japan mid May-mid June, so I’ll reserve a more extended demo of frames for another year. If the PA doesnt convince I’m loading up on two more PS X, maybe a PS 97 just to have a smaller more precise sibling in the bag for days I am launching too much.

Now to get organised on the frames in the storage and start selling them on the fleabay and classifieds here. I’m sure others could appreciate some of the stuff I have in there more than me who just has them laying around now.

+1 for WO v2 and PS97. Both awesome modern player sticks
