for a demo you should be good a size down. But to buy id personally stay at the 4 1/2. I went between the ut, pd and 100 today and they all felt the same size.
Question for you about EZ100. Read some people saying it has some stability issues. Any of that in your experiences?

No. The beam gets pretty reinforced at 3 and 9 and the twistweight is real nice on it. Not frying pan level like the new PD, but high 14s.

Only time the frame twists on me at all is when my tourna grip is soaked from an hour in the humidity. Haven't found a frame to cure that issue yet.

I didn't recall you mentioning any stability issues. That's why it caught me off guard when I read it.

And I'll trust your opinion over a lot of the others that I read.

That would be awesome and much appreciated.

I'm also putting together a demo box from TW. I swear you used to be able to demo 4 frames at a time. So far I've got the PD21, EZone 100, and I was thinking about the VCore Pro 100.
Funny, I've got a similar box on the way with Strike 100, Ezone 100, and VCore Pro 100 likely jostling it out in the box prior to arrival. Have played with YYs off and on (enjoyed the DR 98 and then the Xi98 for quite a while a few years back; I believe the Xi was a PP fav) and liking what I've been hearing hear about the new Ezone, as well as the VCP 100 on other forums. A friend has that one and really likes it; I was impressed with the comfort and controllable power I had when I took a few hits with it during one of our matches, so added it to the demo box. Look forward to hearing your experiences and comparisons as well.

Vcore Pro 100 - another sleeper. Never tried it but I looked into it. Went with the Ezone 100 because I want the big power and spin and I read that the VCP can be a bit anemic there.

That said - how the heck has the Vcore Pro 100 gotten glossed over so much? (debatably) GOAT P/J, control oriented 100, most likely plays similar to a Gravity.

If I had to guess it probably will lack a bit of the punch that we want when we used 100 size frames, but it's worth checking into.

The feel could be great too. Glad some of you all are giving it a demo.

Has the not-so-hidden "magic" of 8 throat mains in a 16x19 bed that is appealing, at least to me. Will be a fun demo.

Yeah and I think you will really like the Ezone 100 if you liked that older DRxi 98 - quite a similar feel there except the ezone doesn't need lead.

Lol - was going to restring and tinker with the tweener this evening (all these 100sqinch talks lately...), but the youngest decided to have a massive/long tantrum just before the bed time... so that didn’t happen.
anyway, these on the table and thought that is a pretty iconic stylefor these racquets...:-D8-B:X3:

I will try again tomorrow......

I still can’t get over now well the Gravity Pro felt. I don’t know much about Head or when the Gravity line was released, but those that do, what’s your best guess on when they revamp that line?

Head Gravity gets its first update next year. Only a PJ change for all line variations, everything else (mold/layup) remains same (MP/MP Lite/S/Tour/Pro).

Played one of the 3 sets today with my pure strike. I could get used to this thing. What a precise beast. What a diff a grip makes. This thing was useless to me in L3. Once I switched to L4 I could get used to the feel.

The gripsize makes that big a difference for you? I can usually play with L2, L3 or L4.

Cool! Totally new paint scheme or will it be the same style of a different color on each side? Thx

The Pro definitely feels great, I had a demo when it came out. Only issue is that the specs are quite borderline for me and the SW can easily be 335+, which can become tricky when the going gets tough, especially with the 315 g static weight. The Tour with a narrower beam would be a bit anemic.

Hmmm . . . I may try to wait on it as I'm not a fan of the current paintjob. It's superficial of me but I can't help it. I lack patience though so doubt I can hold out 11 months.

Would you recommend ordering it unstrung so I can check the specs in case I need to send it back?

If you don't like the current one, the new one won't rock your boat either. Coral and teal on each side is swapped with blue and lime. I don't foresee anyone loving one PJ and hating the other. See pics I shared above.

The new one is slightly better IMO but not sure if it's worth waiting for.

Use the TW service to get the specs you want.
I thought that was only when ordering multiple frames. You could pay extra to get them to match them. Didn't realize you could request it on an individual frame. Thanks for the tip.

Yes. The fuller grip gives me much more confidence. Precision.
I can play with an L1. But my strokes will change.
The strike is lower powered but talk about connected. It gives you what you put in.
The PA gives you more than you put in. So you have to use spin to make up for the boost. But finally when I played the strike in L4 it came alive. Maybe with some string tweaking. Maybe gut poly or who knows. I can Bridge the gap. But either way it was a really fun set to play with the strke today.
I will put it up against the PA Going forward.

I got 2 of my UT's restrung today. I took PPs advice (I think) and put S7T in one of them and my usual Hyper G in the other one. Both at 48# so I can compare them alongside each other and see which I prefer.

I was told the same, that it was just cosmetics and no other changes. Was also told that they were not going to offer the updated Tour in the US for some reason. Can’t say I totally get that but I am sure they know their numbers. I know one guy that owns a shop and another that manages a different shop. They both said Gravity is a great seller for them and they move a lot of MP, Tour, and Pro. I went ahead and bought a third Tour bc I think I like the current cosmetic a little better plus I know if I waited to get the update I would want at least two. If I remember correctly the time frame is supposed to be “early 2021” but who knows with the way things have gone this year.

Turning a new leaf?
Despite what some may believe, I always take mental notes of what you guys recommend as you are much more experienced. We don't all play the same style or same level so what applies at your level may not necessarily apply at my level. For example @mad dog1 has already stated my reviews don't apply to him as he plays a higher level, and thats fine. But that also means what you are experiencing at 5.0 may not be what I'm experiencing at 4.0.
Also, we each have our preferences/biases so for example I'm not going to buy another Babolat no matter who recommends it. So I filter stuff out and use what I think may be relevant to me.

My stringer actually ordered the S7T a while ago but I haven't needed my racquets restrung until now.

We have a pretty good source for all things Head on these forums too. His name is @dr325i and if you are nice, he will let you in on some insider scoops and may also let you play with some very coveted Head prostocks ;)

Im interested on how the high altitude balls play there. Heard its a bit more of a topspin game so that and the altitude adjustment are factors in why I went to this type of frame as well.
2 weeks of your heart beating in ways you didn’t know it could. Then things will start to normalize. It really does make a difference. When you visit Florida, you’ll feel like you took EPO.
The balls do act differently also. But it’s not crazy different. Given your level, you’ll adjust quickly. The bigger adjustment is the physiological one. Just know your body will adapt
I live on the Front Range here in CO and you get used to the higher altitude pretty quickly (I moved from CA about 8 years ago) to the point that you don't even think about it fairly soon, especially if you're in decent shape. The high altitude balls definitely help to compensate for everything so I don't hear folks having to add a lot more topspin to accommodate. I hit fairly flat, though will intentionally use more topspin than normal on occasion, and never felt I needed to change my style once moving here. The relative lack of humidity is sublime and the number of sunny, playable days, even in winter, is crazy. Also a very active tennis scene here. Read in one of the CO USTA magazine issues a year or so ago that CO had the fastest growth in the US in terms of leagues; go figure. I respect and admire those who can play in regions with high humidity (I grew up in FL on central Atlantic coast and then VA) or with a high propensity for wet conditions (tip o the hat to those of you in the PNW), and there are lots of great areas in the US (let alone across the pond) in which to live and play, but one could do worse than my fair state. Loads of unabashed bias, of course.:)

@Vicious49 its been a while since I hit the GPro. I was lucky enough to be on the playtest here when it came out. I think I strung it with the string the gave me which was Hawk touch. I recommended it to you because it has similar feel to the UT and similar plow/stability to the RF, both frames that you enjoy. It’s a very good frame but became too cumbersome to hit for me and then the V7 blade dropped shorty after and I fell in love with it like a holic does. I think the GPro would work with many strings but I would put S7T in it and call it a day.

I ran into a similar thing on my last outing! Found a semi-local store to let me demo some frames, and grabbed an Ezone 100 (strung with sgut), blade V7 18x20 (1619 demo oos), pure aero 2019, and pure strike 3rd gen 18x20 (1619 demo oos) - so basically a variant of every frame left I have any interest in.

Pure aero I put away pretty quickly, it played a lot like the 2016 for me, just felt less bad. Blade was the second to get ruled out, it felt great but it just didn't have the pop I'm used to and rely on. I hit well with the Ezone 100 and didn't really have any issues with it, but I just kept putting it down. Haqq suggested this might happen based on feel, and it looks like he was right - nothing technically wrong with it at all, and what PP's said about it I think is accurate. Hits a heavy ball despite the low SW, doesn't feel like a 100 when you swing it, feels softer than you'd guess based on RA, high-quality paintjob. Just couldn't jive with the feel! Might have been the strings though, so I'm not willing to rule it out completely. I'll still grab one it if see it around.

The standout though was the pure strike. Man oh man, that thing was sweet - it felt best to me out of all of them, hands down. I spent most of the time switching off between that and my APD (which was an extremely hard and uncomfortable transition to make + in retrospect I shouldn't have done it).

Let me crush drives extremely accurately, to the point I didn't really even feel like breaking the loopers out. Approach shots were awesome, I could just pick a corner and smack it there 6" above the net in a way I've never been comfortable doing before. Volleys were better than anything else I've tried, and slices were better than everything I've tried except the blade. Serves were definitely worse than my APDs, but that's a given - nothing serves like them for me. I'm wondering if I shouldn't try bumping the tension in my APDs some to try and get some control back.

Hitting partner said I was hitting heavier but less oenetrating with the APD, but he was running more when I used the strike and I missed less. I think a lot of the missing with the APD was due to me switching between it and a racquet that I have to swing much harder with a totally different swing path, so not sure what to make of that.

The guy hit slower than most of my hitting partners, so I'm not sure how the thing would handle heavier balls - and I'm not gonna be able to figure that out as soon as I'd like, because the afternoon after this hit I stepped on some broken glass and botched my foot a bit. But, pure strike 3G in both string patterns is definitely something I wanna try more.

Ha! Youre awesome!
i actually did try the 2nd gen PS. It was a great racquet but I got away from it due to the high stiffness rating. If your elbows can handle it, more power to you.

Dude, what are you tying to do here.. like seriously.. None of this concerns you yet you keep commenting here to fuel the fire??

Seriously though, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m so grateful for those of you who suggested and swore by the UT. It totally made me reassess what type of racquets I like. I didn’t realize feel like that was possible as the racquets I’d demo’d To that point were stiffer 16/19 frames.

If you like the UT, you need to try the 16/19 UP. It loses a bit of control, but not much. But it does add some pop to the frame. I feel for those of you in Europe who can’t get it yet. I am quite liking the extra power for singles matches.

Very interesting about your last outing with the racquets. Nice. I thought you'd be clicking more with PA 2019 for some reason but yeah all of these were good probables :).

Yeah my youngest plays with Ezone 100 actually so I know the stick well, even poated about it somewhere here on forum. Nice stick overall but if you're used to a certain feedback like say APDs or anything livelier the feedback is just very different. Great racquet nevertheless. Definitely string it with full poly & see if you might like. Strikes are fantastic & if you get a chance try the 16x19 and even Strike 100. Great frames! (y)

Disappointing first outing with the Gravity Tour this morning. Managed to get an hour in with a guy I know well - massive serve and groundstrokes but prone to errors. We've had some good games in the past but he's never beaten me.

GT felt good on the warmup, nice blend of control and power feel was pretty good, nice amount of flex and felt pretty solid/connected to to the ball.

Unfortunately when we started the set things didn't go quite as well. Serves were good, plenty of pace on 1st and my kickers/slice serves we're working fine. Main issue was on defence and returns where I was giving up too many short balls and getting punished.

At 2-5 0-30 I gave in and grabbed my TT310, took the set 7-5. Pretty much everything was better with the Prince, except maybe 1st serves where the added power from the GT was giving me a few extra MPH.

Will probably give the Gravity another try, maybe with a different string setup, but it looks like I need to start stocking up on TT310s!

Have not, but people in this thread as well as others have said that the twaron addition really smooths out the feel from the previous iteration. Also that there is more stability in the latest vs the other. Can't personally attest to that, but it seems that's the common take.
