Played again last night against the guy that plays 4.0 leagues. He crushed me. His serve was on so not much i could do there and my FH form has gone to crap as of late. I played awful with the UT but some good did come out of the match . . .

In the 3rd set i finally switched to the Doppio in hopes of getting a bit more forgiveness and oh my!! My serve has a lot more pop and for the OHBH . . . Wow. I think im actually preferring the Doppio over the Vc95 due to the launch angle and something about the racquet works better with my natural swing than the VC95. ill probably use the Doppio this entire week to make sure it wasnt an anomaly but I may end up making this my primary. If only @JGads would do a better job of promoting PK sticks.

currently in my bag as im trying to simplify and clear things out:
UT
UP 16m
VC95
Doppio
yeah he is terrible at that

Have any of you holics' played with the volkl v cell 8 315? I'm mostly interested in how the comfort is? Where it compares to other racquets in that department.

i had a pair from a previous gen (VSense) when they were being cleared out. i thought they were overly stiff, not maneuverable, and bad feel. for the price i feel like theres better stuff out there.

Several of my players have gone for the EZone 100. One just picked up a PA. There's always those hanging around if I want a quick hit.

Then again I have the Rad MP coming in. But I can always snag a VC100 again if I decide I miss it too much.

I have never jelled with any yonex frames i have tried. They all felt clunky. Can't quite figure out why. Anyhow i currently play with an old bb 11 mp 18/20 but am looking to transition my game to a more all court game. The bb 11 is great for my baseline game, but i really struggle with finishing points and net. So I'm thinking maybe a little lighter and or a more hl balance may help. The prince phantom x 305 looks promising?

The 2020 ezones were soooo good. Soft, yet powerful and awesome feel. I’m excited for the 2022 ezone and what it does.

I like the feel of the VCore over the EZone. The EZone is just a bit too muted but it is really good if you ditch the stringbed dampener.

Are you still hitting the slinger bag? I have a silent partner that I have had for 7 or 8 years, but I think I’m going to pick up a slinger…. Just for the convenience of having one device to more from car to court. I don’t use a ball machine for replacements for hitting with people - some people complain about the slinger speed or type of ball - but I hit a ball machine to fix an issue I’m having. Like BH down the line or drop volleys or x-court patterns…. Very specific drills to what I’m screwing up in matches.

Thinking the all in one solution (balls, storage, rackets, machine) would be a fast set up.

I still have it but in all honesty not hitting it much which is shame on me. It might not have the fastest ball but it produces a very heavy ball loaded with kicking spin. If you're creative you'll think of many things you van adjust it for. Obviously good for smoothing out strokes as you're thinking, volleys or even overheads. My least productive tennis summer of my life with injuries and not signing up for leagues. I'lll go charge it up so its ready for any impulse going to the courts. Yeah, you should get one, you'll enjoy it.

your injury summer has made me thankful, I had a little bit of back problem late spring but it went away quickly. sucks man, hope you have a better 2022. Besides we need some match play reports on the Zus frames.

I’m hitting the order button. I’ll probably end up selling my silent partner machine once this Slinger proves out. I just think it is exactly what I want out of a ball machine. I’m not trying to significantly develop strokes, just dial things in from time to time and work specific areas. it cracks me up when people say they want a 70mph ball from a ball machine. that’s fun for 10 min, never to be used again. zero use case for me as I would way rather play matches. much better to groove against some heavy balls and tweak things … and getting from the car to the court quickly, low hassle.

Yeah, it seems a nice fit for your needs! Let me know how it goes when you get it. And if you use the trinity ball, its cheaper to get the club ball case

My cousin in Dallas who just got in to tennis bought one. He's used it maybe once or twice and now with weather getting cooler soon he won't be able to play much (he has lupus so his joints don't do great in the cold). He said I can borrow it or the next 3 months or so. Just need to make a trip up there to pick it up.

definitely worth the trip. although you can just hit the buy button like I did earlier and it shows up in a few days.

yeah it’s getting cold here now too. like 88. haha. Florida problems. it’s actually quite a bit less humidity so it’s not bad playing in this weather. still a sweaty mess, but less painful.

High 80s and still humid in Houston. We are supposed to get a cold front next week which should make it really nice to play.

I used the Doppio and only the Doppio tonight in some doubles matches. Im a believer!

Both my flat and slice serves were better than usual. With my FH, I was able to shape the shot or hit flat. Something about the weight/balance and how it comes through just works better for me than the VC95. It seems to have more plow through as well. It hits a nice slice. It works well with my OHBH although this is one shot I think the VC95 does better with,

just wait - the OHBH is where the doppio will grow and grow on you. when you start whipping over spiny shoulder height balls, you’ll forget about 95’s. before the dope I would have said the six one was the king OHBH, dope will change what you think is possible

sorry to quote again - i goggled it and thought it was a " Ki Q+ Tour"..... i thought the flat/boxed beams on the Ki Q+ Tour looks sexy.
is this anywhere close to the Q+5 Pro?

that’s what Gads named the espresso. great feeling frame but doesn’t have the whip and pop of the doppio. it’s like a nespresso vs. a nice blend from a slayer or la marzocco.

haha - i’m in the same boat. staying committed to the 2021 Q+5X Pro aka Top Banana. PK is pretty close to grip sizes. I use L3’s and they work as well for me as Wilson, Prince, Head. It might be slightly larger than Wilson, but it’s so slightly that any grip change can get you up or down that 1/16 or so.

i’m not as grip crazy as other people though, as long as it’s close to L3. I get nutty at L4 or L2. I have no explanation, haha.

How do you compare it to the UT?
It cant compare to the UT in feel obviously. With the UT i feel like I can place the ball anywhere. it has the best control of any racquet Ive played with. I dont think the Doppio or any racquet can compete with the UT in those 2 categories - feel and control.

But the UT does require more effort in general to play with - You have to prepare earlier, theres less free power, and its less forgiving in general. The Doppio has a higher launch angle (but not as high as the VC95) so I get better net clearance and Im able to shape the ball/shots more. Whereas with the UT its more of a flatter shot. The Doppio wins easily in terms of the OHBH and serve.

(BTW - what is the PK handle/grip size like? is their L2 a true L2? thanks)
The grip is a little bigger. I prefer an L4 with Wilson and Head but an L3 with the PK.
