But you probably forgot to string it with prestretched Evolution mains and 18g og micro crosses at 52 lbs.Alright gents, so let me get a little more into this. Firstly, all of my EZs were hijacked my players. Their popularity is apparently so powerful that my players refuse to use their own racquets. This left me with nary a tweener in sight to use so I figured that I would bring the UT out for a day in the sun.
As soon as I picked up the UT I knew I wasn't going to be happy. It was too heavy and didn't swing the way I've become accustomed to (and frankly spoiled by) with the EZ. It just felt cumbersome and clunky in my hands and as I swung it. It got better with more time but I couldn't hit the shots the way that I wanted to. The UT still does what it does exactly the way that we all love it for. And the feel is still sublime.
Also, my players were learning to return slice shots and it's so hard to find a frame that slices better than the UT. Those beautiful, impossibly low, nasty skidding slice shots just come off the frame so so easily. My players hated it.
But when we got to playing rotations, I could not find the groove with the UT. I wasn't able to manipulate or shape the ball in the same fashion as the EZ. When I went more drivey and less spinny, things worked better but it wasn't the same brand of tennis that I wanted to play.
So I guess that to better clarify what I needed to say is that I still love the UT for what it is but I hate that it doesn't suit my needs anymore.
