Did Murray Overachieve?

So it seems like a Peak Murray/Safin/Del Potro/Hewitt/Roddick/Tsonga/Wawrinka are all in this debate peak for peak debate circle for the next highest peak after the big 3

This is not being utterly useless against the big 3:

2008 USO: Andy beats Nadal 6-2, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4
2010 AO: Andy beats Nadal 6-3, 7-6, 3-0 [retired]

2012 USO: Andy beats Djokovic 7-6, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2
2013 Wimbledon: Andy beats Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 6-4

2013 AO: Andy beats Federer 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 6-7, 6-2

Given how much some overrate him, you'd expect him to have more than 5 wins over the big 3, especially with so many attempts. Wawrinka has more slam wins over them despite having less meetings. And most importantly, Murray was very disappointing in most of his slam finals.

5-20 record in Slams against Big 3 Lol. Even Tsonga, Berdych had better numbers.

Murray was too busy being breadsticked by Nishikori at that time. Against Murray in the final Djokovic actually would have a chance to vulture this slam after 3 walkovers. Murray already had 5 attempts to play Djokovic in slams in 2014-2016, and he collapsed in all 5 meetings, not being able to hold a decent level for more than 1 or 2 sets in a match. Wawrinka on the other hand got 3 wins over Djokovic in BO5 during these years, not just in USO 2016. Not to mention that someone who hypes wins over 2015 Nadal shouldn't use the argument of Djokovic being in bad form.

Anyway, Wawrinka beat Djokovic 4 times in slams. This is twice more than Murray, and in less attempts. I think it's obvious who hurt him more when it matters.

Murray did more damage to Djokos career than Wawrinka, this is not even up to debate. 2019 USO Djoko had shoulder problems wich was already notable in the rounds prior and he retired, he wouldn't have won the event anyway when he couldn't even serve properly, and it was a 4th round. USO 16, was an opportunity due to the walkovers, but Djoko was pretty bad anyway here. He still somehow had almost every stat in his favour in the final but Wawrinka won due to Djoko just being awful on BPs. That was an easy match for a decent Djokovic, but he wasn't even decent here. Wawrinka didn't even play too well in this match either.

Murray stopped Djoko from olympic gold, a YECs, YE#1, slams, masters you name it. He stopped him everywhere.

Djokovic USO 16 final vs Nadal USO 19 final
Djokovic USO 16 final vs Carlos USO 22 final
Murray USO 08 final vs Carlos USO 22 final

Who wins these?

Djokovic USO 16 was crap. He was not himself that 2nd half of the year after winning Nole slam and breaking records left and right. Mentally burned out and probably his body was not in top shape anymore. I wouldn't have that match or tournament edition as a comparison to other matches.

Djokovic didn't always have to be at or near his best to beat Murray though, while he did have to be at his best to take down Wawrinka.

And honestly, as far as Federer goes, I have no doubt he was more afraid looking at Berdych or Tsonga on the other side of the net at a slam than seeing Murray there, even if Murray had a better record against him in less important tourneys. Fed just didn't (and didn't have to) take Murray seriously as a slam opponent.
