Did Murray tank against Ferrer and fake groin problems?

I mean, Murray probably just wants to chill out in London for the rest of the year. Maybe play some playstation. Maybe go visit a fashion show or two. Or maybe he's falling behind on his Christmas shopping?

Just sayin'.

I watched this match and he definitely was not comfortable. You could tell by his movement and believe it or not, his demeanor was actually not as boorish as normal, which indicates a lack of fire IMO.

Bless you, gregor.b. I know you mean well.

This thread is a parody thread... mocking the other "tanking" threads that have popped up all of a sudden after Djokovic's loss to Ferrer today!

What puzzles me is that Murray said something like - "I'll let my tennis do the talking" before the tourney began. This was in response to fed who was somewhat downplaying murrays Asian tourney success. He even said that he has never been afraid of fed and likes to play him. To me, this seems like he was feeling fine. There was no mention of injury before that if I m not mistaken.

Now fastforward a day or two. It seems to me that after losing to ferrer, he had little chance of going forward and thus started throwing in the towel. Ferrer is the weakest player in that group, but ferrer brought on the heat. Murray did not play so well for whatever reason.

I mean, how does one go from saying that his tennis would do the talking to I was injured since Paris, only after losing? It's bizarre. Right tactic given his unexpected loss but surely, his tennis cannot do the talking? On the other hand Feds tennis seems to be speaking pretty clearly and he's the old dude who should hav the most body issues. Not the case.

Also, he keeps on saying he did not rest etc. Here r some facts according to the ATP site and the 2011 win-loss stat:

Joker. 69-4, total matches played is 73
Nadal. 66-13, 79
Murray. 56-12, 69
Fed. 59-12, 71

The order of most "rest" in terms of matches played is:

Murray
Fed
Joker
Nadal

All in all, sounds like an excuse but the right strategy for murrays body and for next year.

Murya wanted to be out of the WTF because he is lining up in Best Buy on Black Friday to buy TV to watch the rest of the players tank their matches.

Murray is incredibly immature. His on-court AND off-court intelligence is overrated by most who comment on him. Clearly he spoke in the heat of the moment. Roger is still the master, Murray is still cleaning droids in the moisture farm.

Murray could not get to another level when Ferrer started running him all over the court. I am sure Murray was not 100% but he was 85-90% which is pretty good considering Sampras won Wimby in 2000 saying he was barely 75% healthy... Ferrer took it to Murray and Murray felt embarrassed to get beat like this and quit

The year is over for the top players after the us open.

Only turn up because of the rules and money on offer.

At this stage every player is carrying an injury or extreme tiredness.

Tennis needs a 12 week off season.

I think when people talk about Murray's groin problem they're not seeing the whole picture.

His specific groin problem seems to be that he has no balls.

sorry, that joke was begging to be made

Murray's body has clearly been needing a break for the past few weeks.
When he's getting injuries in his sleep it's obvious his body's telling him something, that it's starting to fall apart and it's time to throw in the towel for the season.
After the sleep buttock injury, he had a hamstring and hip strain followed by the groin.

Every plodder and pusher certainly. Pity that only one player can play an entire season, and keep playing till he's freakin' THIRTY freakin' years old.

Just one guy who can freakin' hit the ball with just one hand on the backhand.

Anyway, who cares.

The new Zelda game just came out, so that'd be a pretty good reason to withdraw from the WTF.
