He needed 5 sets to beat Tiafoe, and even Ruud trouble him in the final. I feel that Novak lost a great oportunity there.

Yep, the level was very poor overall. The only decent match was Alcaraz/Sinner but no one came close to Medvedev's level from USO 2021. Not even close. Djokovic was the heavy favorite, even with his B game. He wasn't gonna lose to Cilic, Tiafoe or Ruud, that's for sure.
That's why I think he has a legit chance this year, if he is healthy. If Medvedev and Alcaraz are on the same half and he is quite fresh for the final, I like his chances.

He'll probably win the Calendar Slam this year unless Sinner gets his serve booming for grass. So it doesn't matter. Him and Goran already said they are going hard for it. Everyone else is gonna burn themselves out playing HC masters evens before US open etc. and he'll just do a quick warmup for each slam and then basically play his way into form at the slam like he did for RG.
If Sinner goes down early at Wimbledon I fully expect Djokovic to win the CYGS this year. Sinner is the only guy that can stop him on grass. Maybe Med at the US OPen, but who knows. He could go out early too

Probably but who cares. He is already way fortunate enough to still be playing fairly well even in his mid to late 30s, and be able to capitlize on the worst field in history, even at this present age.

Both were not bad losses. Nadal in RG in 4 sets and rune in Paris in 3rd set final.
He would have gotten ncygs again.

Since he couldnt do it the very year before im not sure about the pressure of doing it the very next year, especially if alcaraz or sinner were in his path. Both novak and serena won 4 slams in a row non calendar. Even more impressive was martinas 6 in a row.
Graf did have that incredible 1988 but i do think the stars aligned a bit and opposition from other seasons would have made it as hard as novaks recent attempts for a cygs.

Thats the least of things covid robbed *everyone* of.
And what about novaks opposition? And the female tour... a lot of wasted time to go out and make a living and be appreciated for all that work.
Also didnt he get a massive no1 rankings boost? Like barty? I lose track now as i want to write off much of this terrible decade.
For a good number of Djokovic fans, these policies do not apply to the former world number 1 and he has the right to override them.
