Hey gino, sure thing. Been thinking of starting one, but there are already a few great threads on apparels, like the one by supermario343. Was thinking of starting one on tournament-specific outfits though, like Wimbledon 08, 09 etc. Maybe I'll do that :)
 
Thanks to all you guys who spoke up in support of me, or just simply gave your honest, objective opinions on the "issues" raised by mrmb.

I make no apologies for acquiring the Roger custom items and racquets and posting the pictures of them on this forum. While I really do appreciate the thanks I get for doing so (it's actually quite a bit of work and time to take the photos and upload them onto this forum), I am certainly not looking for adulation/validation. I do it because I am a huge fan of Roger's and I want to share what I have and what I know via photos with the rest of his fans.

As for mrmb, or whoever he originally is on this forum, obviously he doesn't have the guts to cast aspersions on me in his actual forum identity (but actually had to take the trouble to register as a new member, talk about pathetic), I would describe him as nothing more than "a sheep in sheep's clothing", to borrow from Churchill.
 
Looks like Silicone in handle of the real Nadal frame.

You can see the traces of it around the buttcap, and probably smell it if the racquet isn't too old.

That is something posters here don't seem to get. I didn't want to get into it given my bad history with him. But it is time that someone says it as it is: if you are not a millionaire, but are spending this kind of money on pro frames, AND you are not even interested in the specs of the frames, I don't believe it is being done for the "Haitians." It is a by-product of something else. Now being a millionaire is all-relative, a 2 million is nothing compared to a 500 million, so I appreciate that there is a range. But I hope this money is not coming out of funds for something more important and is not an indication of a deeper problem. Well, that is all I have to say and I think it is important to say it so that Fabfed can get a fuller perspective, and I will not butt-in any more. But remember you guys who pick on me could be doing him a disservice for not calling it as it is.

I am sure there is a lot of silicone customization for pros' frames. To help absorb the shock from heavy hitting.

Have you tried it Mr. Sam?

My first experience was with the J90s, and as Dr. BHBH can attest, it does wonders for the feel of the frame.

My first swing with the J90, I didn't even feel like I hit the ball, I just swung and it wasn't there anymore.

I don't think I will ever play a non siliconed frame again.

You just can't help yourself can you? I would be more concerned for your mental well being than mine, what's with your obsessive need to pick on everything and everyone? Trolling/inflammatory comments and posts insulting other posters go against the code of conduct.

In the corner of each post, you will see a small red triangle with an exclamation point in it. Click on that to flag the post.

You type in a little description of why the post violates the rules here, and it will be deleted by the mods.

When enough of his posts are flagged, and the mods see that he is breaking the rules, he will be banned.

Just don't go around flagging all his posts or you will look like a little whiner, but any that are genuinely just to stir crap or insult you, you can flag.

NP, lots of us appreciate you posting what we would otherwise never get to see, and when people start crap with you, and you have no intent to cause trouble, and are respectful to everyone who doesn't act like a jerk towards you, it is just silly.

It is unfortunate when people deal with their jealousy and personal insecurity by lashing out at others, or condemning their actions.

But you have to understand that it is only a small number of people running their mouth, and though they make a lot of noise, that the vast majority of people are both happy for you that you have this collection of stuff you enjoy, and also thankful that you don't just stuff it in your closet and not share it with anyone.

I'm only mucking around, i just cannot believe this guy has hundreds of rackets in pristine sealed condition, what's the point apart from feeding you guys his scraps through this forum, manifested through indulgent pictures.

Who cares- I drive by a place where a guy has 45 cars in a garage and hardly ever uses them. I have never once yelled at him- or questioned why.

Fabfed is a collector of tennis accessories and a fanatic of Federer- whoopdy whoo

Especially on a tennis forum- are we so lucky that someone with such a collection takes the time to share.

Thank you very much for your posts! Those that are calling the OP out on counts of wasting money... what business is it of yours? Some people collect planes, antique cars, and nobody's calling them out on it. What right do you have to tell the OP how to spend his money?

It seems that there are actually quite a few cosmetic differences between the retail and the real thing, at least to my untrained eyes. Anybody else note how the decals are all off by quite a bit? In addition, it seems that the colors are slightly less bright, or something along those lines.

Keep up the great work OP! I enjoyed the pictures quite a bit, and am disappointed that I didn't see this thread until now. It's rare I visit up here...
 
Through out the thousands of threads in the pro forum probably only a handful of threads provide 1st hand information about pro sticks. Fabfed probably is the only one here (posting or "posted" on TW) that own both Fed and Nadal sticks. And he did contributed a lot to the forum just by providing his pictures. Now you can call him childish, whatever, it is clear he is pissed at the moment. On the other hand, if you take a look at who pissed him off: AlpineCadet and Sureshs. LOL. How much did these 2 contributed to the forum??? Need I say more?

You see, Fabfed has handled the situation completely wrong. He could have easily added both of them on the ignore list but he didn't. There is no logical excuse as to why he removed the pics. It's simply childish and he doesn't give two crap about those who cared. All i can say is, good ridance. Someone like him is not needed.

And the funny thing is, a lot of ppl are sucking up to the OP. Ask me about it, I've gotten emails asking me to play nice so the OP will post up specs. How ridiculous is that?

Alpine and Sureshs are perfectly within their rights to say "I think you should post specs". This is a forum, and that is their opinion.

Fabfed can delete his pics and leave if he wants, but it's incredibly childish. He just should have not posted the stats if he didn't want to, as opposed to stopping posting altogether.

they were not just saying that, they were both downright harassing him. don't forget that fact. they were both committing personal attacks against him, sureshs in particular. he posted the pictures as a courtesy, and had every right to remove them, where as they had no right to accost and harass him.

If anyone has followed the Fabfed's K90 threads (his first one was couple month old), it should be clear that Fabfed is not really an expert in tennis rackets. He is only a huge fan of Federer's personal items, he is not really into the details/specs of any tennis racket. In his first K90 thread he already made it clear that he doesn't know how to measure balance, etc, and he made it clear that he will NOT do that just to satisfy the people here. He does not have to dig into those technical details for others. He posts what he has and that's it.

If a person is paying 7k for his racket, I am sure he has more important things to do then dealing with all the craps here. And why is anybody blaming him for taking off his pictures?? Isn't "swing weight" the one that you really want to know, and you just can't stop blaming the owner to find that out??? Why suddenly you care about the pictures now?
