hey all
i need to lose some weight. At least a few lbs in the upcoming week. I have been working out, and got my weight down to 195, looking to hit 189 or 188 soon. I do work out, and i do have muscle, but more fat than muscle. I want to know what to eat, in order to try and speed it up. I have my workout regimen down, so now its the Diet portion

this is usually my daily meals

Breakfast- small blueberry muffin
Lunch: usually some pizza, sometimes, a salad
Dinner: White Rice, Chicken, Broccoli and Carrots

is that ok? or do i need to switch my lunch or breakfast or dinner?

let me know

thanks

I've read several books on diet and nutrition, and, from what I've learned, muffins and bagels are some of the worst foods to eat--they are loaded with fats/oil, are high in carbohydrates, and are basically empty calories with little nutrition. The pizza you eat for lunch falls into this same category. Your dinner, however, looks great. Here's my recommendation: lose the pizza and the muffin and instead eat oatmeal and some fruit or 2-3 eggs and some toast for breakfast and a salad with chicken or fish, or deli sandwich for lunch. Cut out fast food, the sodas and junk food completely (chips, french fries, candy, etc). Drink lots of water. In general, aim for fewer processed foods and eat more meats & fish and lots of vegetables. Also, you should probably make an appointment with a nutritionist or sports medicine professional before you make radical changes as they can tailor something that's more specific to your body.

to lose weight, have 5 meals a day, small portions. No pizza - too much fat. many small portions keep your energy up better than 3 full meals.

others here can suggest what to eat.

For breakfast, eat some oatmeal or some allbran cereal...taste good and is healthy.

For lunch, go for a turkey sandwich with a fruit salad.

For dinner, seems ok, but you should change it up, don't always eat the same thing!

keys to losing weight:
Pop = the devil
Heavy cheese = the devil (more for me, because I get bloated and constapated)
Higher fat/carb foods = the devil.

Portions are the key! you will not realize how fattening some foods are, just rediciouls.
Get on a schedule to work out or play tennis.
Carbs, some fats, and most food categories are important just watch your porition sizes.

Example.
Jimmy john's sub, #6 vegetarian you would think is healthy (standard)

639 calories
36 fat
57 carbs!
and others...

Now ships
160 calories
9 fat
17 carbs

Now a sprite? a small is good
242 calories
0 fat
65 carbs!

Now this is one meal! lets add it.
1042 calories!
45 fat!
139 carbs!

Omg, this is just crazy. You can make it healthier by not getting pop instead water and taking Mayonnaise out of the sandwich. Just knowledge yourself about food, do research about the nutrients of restaurants and just control your portions and you will be fine.

You want to try to eat no processed food!

I probably eat too little (but I am full and eat threw out the day), but I eat around

1200-1600 calories a day
30-50 fat
100 carbs
