Difference between Natural Gut and Multifilament?

It really depends on the particular string. Natural gut is the softest impact for sure, but everything else is up for interpretation depending on the particular string.

My stringer tells me that gut is a better deal because it holds its tension and it lasts a lot longer. This seemed counterintuitive to me, but he says it's quite obvious to anyone who strings it a lot. One problem with natural gut is that you've got to really protect it from moisture.

I'm not a string breaker, so I've really enjoyed the Tonic gut in my ncode 95. If I was one of these huge hitters who breaks a string every couple of sets, then it would not be affordable. Then again, neither would Excel or NXT.

Is natural gut the most powerful and spin friendly strings?

Most powerful, yes. Most spin friendly, no.

PS: Not saying that nat gut's not good for spinning, just that, if spinning is your prime concern, nat gut's not the string I'd recomend...

Spin is more dependent on you striking the ball with either topspin or slice NOT so much with the strings themselves. If you use a "rough" style string the rough part of the string does not last long. Either the rough part of the strings wears down or it cuts into the other strings and breaks. I'd work more with low to high to get topspin or high to low for slice/underspin. My 2 cents worth of advice.
