What's the difference between the Youtek IG Prestige S and the Youtek Prestige Pro? They are pretty close in specs. How does the relatively small differences in specs change the results on the court? I'm asking because I have the prestige s (which I like pretty well) and I have a chance to pick up the prestige pro. Should I? Anyone played these sticks?

Hopefully the mods move this to the appropriate section, but they aren't alike. The Prestige S was Head's attempt at making a more player-friendly frame, so it's lighter and more powerful. The Prestige Pro will have a much smaller sweetspot and be more demanding.

Sorry. I read the forum title as Pro Racquets and Gear not "Pro's." Thanks for the answer.

That and that .4 oz, 4 extra RA points, and 5 extra SW all add up to a beefier stick and heavier hit like Doubles said.

I looked into the Prestige S as a kind of "16/19" radical but found it lacked the stability I wanted from it. I think the Pro is still a very usable and easy to swing racket even though it is on the heavier side of things.

I have and use both. They behave as two totally different racquets.

IG Prestige S -- feels much lighter, far easier to swing and generate pace. Downsides: it is very stiff. Light weight & stiff frame meeting the heavy ball == not a good sensation. But it gets the job done. Bashing from the baseline with everything you've got works quite well, however touch shorts are very difficult, as this racquet has practically no "touch". Its beam is roundish in profile, compared to the square beam of the Prestige Pro. This racquet is very "precise", It sends the ball strictly where it should go according to the rules of physics.

IG Prestige Pro -- has a square beam, substantial weight. It feels heavier and softer. When it meats the heavy ball, the sensation is much better. The dampening from the mass is substantial. The feel is there. Touch shots are good. Because of the pocketing and flex, there is a little bit of "inexactness" is where the ball goes. Those who played with such "dampening" racquets and those which are very "strict" with direction and depth ( as the S is), know that, in real life, it is much easier to play with the racquet that flexes, pockets and smoothes the response.

I would not call one of them more powerful than the other. The S generates its power from stiffness and speed. The Pro generates the power from weight. If the weight of the racquet is holding you down, then S will be a better option. Otherwise, the Pro will be preferred.

+1 to Tennisist comment.
Speaking for IG versions, Pro has more feel.
S is from a different mold, nothing common with the Pros.
But the OP talks about Non IG Pro version in think...
I haven't play with that.
Anyway. Prestige S doesn't have Prestige's feel for sure!
