Differences between Wilson Ultra Tour V2 vs Ultra Pro V3 vs Pro Labs Ultra Pro

I was originally looking to purchase a Wilson Ultra Tour in the V2 paintjob because I like that paintjob more than the Ultra Pro V3 paintjob and heard that they are exactly the same apart from the paintjob. Some people felt like the Tour was a tiny bit softer so I decided I would go for that one.
There was one I could buy from a guy in my country but he didn't want to ship (then why sell if you're in the very corner of the country??). Apart from that one I could only find one from a retailer for €165, bit expensive compared to what other retailers are selling it for in other gripsizes. So I decided to post in some tennis Facebook groups before I would pull the trigger on the €165 one. One guy sent me a message that he has two Ultra Pro V3's for sale that were bought about three months ago and is offering me a very good price. I actually only need one but he only wants to sell the pair though.

That brought to my mind that of course Wilson Pro Labs has been released about three weeks ago and that there is an Ultra Pro V3 in there as well. From that moment onwards I was very confused about the differences between the Ultra Tour V2, the Ultra Pro V3 released in mid 2020 and the Pro Labs version of the Ultra Pro (18x20). I asked multiple people who know their stuff and I didn't get a lot of answers. The answers that I did get didn't match very well.
For the difference between the Ultra Tour V2 and the Ultra Pro V3, two guys said that there is no single difference apart from the paintjob. Another guy came back to me stating that the V2 has a 20mm beam width and the V3 has a 20.7mm beam width. He asked someone from Wilson.

For the difference between the Ultra Pro V3 released in mid 2020 and the Pro Labs version of the Ultra Pro V3, Tennisnerd said that they are exactly the same as well, apart from that he thinks that the quality control on the Pro Labs version might be better. Another guy guesses that the RA of the Pro Labs version might be lower but the guy that stated the 0.7 difference in beam width between V2 and V3, denies that.

I also emailed Wilson directly but don't have an answer back yet, I also doubt that they will be very clear about it lol.
I'm now at the point that I will wait for one of the guys I talked about to check if an Ultra Tour V2 can still be ordered in my country. If yes, I probably will end up buying one of those. If not, I will buy the Ultra Pro V3 pair from the guy that offered it to me.

I would still really like to know what the exact differences are between Ultra Tour V2, Ultra Pro V3 released mid 2020 and the Pro Labs version of the Ultra Pro V3. So that's why I'm asking here. I hope someone has the answers.
If you got confused by this story as well, welcome!

Supposed to be the same. Exact species from various or same :-D batch may vary in feel, not only mass distribution. Got 7 v2s measured on RDC unstrung, 5 showed RA of 65, one was 64, one 63...
So if you are after getting one - get any one. Being a platform frame, it'd be serviceable with mods even way off-spec.

BTW my v2s measure closer to 21mm than to 20.

Thanks for the replies guys.

@Dragy Yeah in the end I'll just get the one I can get the cheapest. The reason I want to buy one is to have a fun project so the stock specs don't matter too much. Just hope they won't be too much higher than what Wilson aims for:laughing:.

The UT 2.0 is supposedly a hair softer than the newer ones, but its a small difference (honestly if any). I think the 2.0 is the best deal in tennis right now. You basically are getting a pro stock frame for around $100.

I'm a big fan of the 2.0 paintjob. For where I am based, it's really hard to get a 2.0 in my gripsize (L2 - 4 1/4). I don't like bothering with gripsizes so L2 is a definite spec for me. Two people are now trying to see if they can get a 2.0 for me though, so I'll wait for that. But in the end of the day, as long as the racket's paintjob doesn't mess with my mind, I don't really mind.

I have the UT and UP v3. They are so the same that when I popped a string on the v3 in a tournament match tonight I was able to pick up the UT and not lose any confidence. There is definitely no difference in beam width either

I see on TennisOnly that the target specs for UT v2 and UP v3 are the same. So the differences in stiffness are probably because of the quality issues that Wilson is known for having.

A used Ultra Tour V2 will probably feel softer than a new Ultra Pro V3 of the same RA anyway.
Funny thing is that a few weeks after I bought an Ultra Tour, I won an Ultra Pro in an Instagram giveaway so I'll be having both anyway after all.

I recently switched from the UT V2 to the UP V3. The new sticks feel a bit stiffer, but it is hard to tell if it is just from the fresh graphite. I suspect the glossy paint job adds a bit to the thickness and stiffness. The feel is slightly more muted, but still feel really good. These frames have been my favorite to play with after searching long and far. They are low powered and predictable, which is what I look for. Let us know how the you like them.

Did you add weight to the Ultra Pro?

OP, how are you liking the UT/UP frames? I use these as one of my mains.
I haven't owned one for almost two years. After that first post I remember I went fur an Ultra Tour which I liked but never loved. I feel I didn't offer me more than just great feel and control. Of course it's meant to be but I just ended up selling it later. Shortly after buying that UT, I won a V3 UP 18x20 in a giveaway. I believe that one came out too different in specs to match, but ultimately just the same frame. Ended up selling that one too not too long after that.
I also remember rebuying an UT at some point and selling it almost as quickly as I bought it.

During the years, I've also owned 16x19 versions of the UP V3 and V4, which fit my game better than the 18x20. Played a lot more hours with those 16x19s. Ultimately though, same story. Majestic feel, majestic control (and paintjob on the V4), but in the end not enough of the other important factors for me.

Did you add weight to the frame? It needs it. for 18x20 you really need to string much lower. I am playing at 42 lbs with poly/syn gut, but I am going to string lower at 38 lbs. for 90F ambient temps. I use MSV focus hex 1.23 and a 1.30mm syn gut (gamma or wilson or forten syn guts). I am at 358g static, but I am going to add some more weight. I've dismissed this frame 2x, but for me it really offers me great control and decent power.

Yup, weighted up and strung low. It's a really nice frame, but others do more for me.
