Different versions of Rossignol F200

Call me crazy but I gave up finally . Ripped out the white dust grommies, cleared all the wholes .. shook out all he damn pieces of rattling annoyances . And strung it with no grommets . Works fine . BUT .on all my rossies I string mine in the low 40,s with iso speed professional ..
with ALL my other sticks , I use any string with no grommets . I had an old old , blue Rossi JUNIOR f200 and
The string caved right thru with grommets and all . So , since that happened I was deathly afraid to string any Rossi , with stiff hard poly or kevlar . So for what it’s worth .

I was trying to remember who was going grommetless.

i strung it low with velocity so that might be an option. Doing a full set of fitex seems like it would cost a bit.

Hello Dino,
Could you measure and let me know the balance of this blue F200. I like specs, just wary of it being head heavy. Pls post or e-mail me directly at jackp3200 @ gmail.com
Thank you very much.

All mine were damn near even balanced I had the blue ones , and the gray ones . I think the white one is the “ most “ head light . But Dino is a Rossi expert !

I don't know if this is a Mandella Effect kind of thing, but I never see any F200s with the cross bar anymore. I had a white one with cross bar when I was a kid. I'm not imagining it. I really did.

The crossbar Rossi's had a very limited run IIRC. This was the diagonal crossbar that made it's way into the 9R series, right?

No, it was a white version and the crossbar was the same shape as the bridge. It might have been polymer, but I can’t quite remember.

What Mats used by himself, number 3, signature?
1982-84: played with number 1
1985-86: played with number 2
End of 1986 till early 1989: played with "number 2" + signature (not pictured in this thread).
End of 1990 till June 1991: played with the same as above with a Vectris PJ (in spring 1991 at least). Then he took a two-year break from the game , came back with it for a few weeks before switching to a Wilson Pro Staff classic - or alike. And that was it for his F200 journey.

I wanted to have F300--a midplus version of F200 may I call it, far more realistic size today--instead of F200. In fact there was an opportunity to get one when a local online retailer was selling a used one for a very good price many years ago. I passed on it, and sometimes I feel I should've grabbed it, especially when I read a thread like this.

Here in France we still can find some in very good shape for a few bucks... Recently I saw a FCX, some F300 and some superb red F230 that I am considering purchasing...

I think the F300 is worth having. It's an interesting stick. Still looks oversize even though it would be midplus by today's standards.
The F230 to collect would be ok to pick up. To hit with they were a frame I thought Rossi could have done a better job with. I have a red and a white one - both play the same. A little too light for their flex I think.

This is the only one I knew about. I used this one in the mid eighties.
Rackets were heavier in those times.

I only knew the number 1 in the pictures above, the one weighing over 400 g. I played with it in the middle of the 80's. Then, in 1988 I switched to a F300.
Now I remember seeing some from the pictured as number 2s.
It's amazing the variety of models of the F200. I was not aware of them, nor that the models weighed so differently.
This makes me see that today I play with rackets 100 g lighter.
I don't know the whereabouts of my old F200. It was left in my parents appartment. After many years I asked for it, and my mother did not know anything. It could have been given away.
The F300 came with me to where I live now. I can't find it too.

a comparison of the rdc data between the series f and the ft would be very interesting

The FT's were much later frames. I think for their era they were still reasonably soft but they were nothing like the old F series frames. The FT5.80 is a very sweet stick though.

mmm i don't think, in the rossignol catalogue 89-90 the ft series was new together ft5.80-5.60-6.80 and 6.60 ; the stiffer should be the 5.80 (that i haven't)
f280 290 295 330 and 340 was new in 87-88

Oh my mistake. I thought you were speaking about the first waves of the F series which the F200 came from. In this latter case I'm not much help - I wasn't playing a lot of tennis at the time and wasn't keeping track of what was out there. Am I right in thinking the Vectris line also appeared in the late 80's early 90's?

I have a few of these later F series frames and even then, the FT's look and feel more modern. Yes - the 5.80 is stiffer, but you would never call it stiff. I have a 6.60 as well but I found that pretty non descript to play with.

yes, vectris line appeared in 1990 until 1992; i've never tried the classic f series, the ft 6.60 was the choice of wilander in 1990 and was in two color schemes total grey and grey-blue i have two of those with different weights, the lighter is very head heavy; what i can't find is the line up of 1991-1992 with the rare models like ft legend diva ft 6.50...

i never realised the Diva was considered rare. I have one here in my bag. Nice stick - need to play around with the strings a little.
