In those pics you can also see the Dimitrov 6.1 93 vs. his little brother the 90. not much, but a bit bigger.
By the way - the ROK seems to be smaller than Dimitrov's 93 and I even just held it against the 90 and that seems to be a more accurate size comparison (90 vs ROK).

And a last thing
To me the ROK has more similarities to the Blade 93. I'm guessing after the PS ROK went out, Wilson replace it with the nBlade line.
I do not think that Blade and ROK have much in common, other than maybe the head size. The shape of the head is different, the heart is different, no PWS. I'll add pics to the album for you (though it is not so obvious in the pics)

No, I completely understand you. I didn't make my comment clear enough. What I meant was that since the PS ROK had the 93 & 98 line I believe Wilson thought there were too many PS models so they decided to ditch the PS name in the ROK and renamed the ROK line with the Blade. Hence forth the Blade had the 93 & still ongoing 98. For sure the PSROK and Blade are totally different racquets in terms of the model.

I don't want to sound arrogant but I have posted messages in the past that Grigor major problem was racquet change and I have even posted a message on these boards Roger's response may be "racquet change" could be one reason when someone asked about Grigor's form.Roger said it more diplomatically :).Someone following Grigor closely could see he was randomly missing forehands (his strength) that he normally doesn't and giving a confused expressions.

Grigor has seen improvement quickly after going to back to his old racquet so that tells something.I have played with previous prostaff 97s and felt string bed has a inconsistant response and not sure about newer model as I haven't tried it yet.The Wilson Spin effect technology didn't work for me at least on this frame.

He is not yet out of woods as he has been slowly building the confidence which is big piece of puzzle for winning big tournaments.

Grigor has it all, great forehand, good serve, good backhand, moves well and stays close to the base line so he has all the ingredients to win big tournaments. But again lot of things have to fall in place at a right time as well to win grandslams and big tournaments.

Is the beam between a dime and penny?

on TV the headsize doesn't look that small. A 93. Wow. That's the smallest sweetspot of any player we talk about right? Well better to say smallest racquet head.

How would you say the 93 plays vs the 90? The difference seems to be very very little!

So Dimi's 93 looks pretty much like a penny :-)

How would you say the 93 plays vs the 90? The difference seems to be very very little!

Honestly, I havn't played much with the 93 and I am now not playing with the 90 anymore as my mine stick - moved to the PS 85 about a year ago.
But what I remember was, that they are hard to compare for 2 reasons: Dimi uses a huge grip... it already feels different compared to my regular 3. And while I never measured or checked, I would suspect that Dimi prefers his racket head-lighter. I suppose there is some silicone in the handle and a bit of the head protector grommets are cut off...correction, I just checked. There was silicone in the handle, but it must have been scraped out by the previous owner. Anyway, despite the fact, that the feel is really different due to the grip size, at the end of the day, i can just pick up the Dimi and play with it... very quick adaption.
I wont be playing due to a business trip for a while, but I will give the Dimi a testdrive next time I play.

What do you use for grommets on that Dimitrov racquet?
Just the ones they came with... I suppose they are non-standard. they look similar to the grommets of the 90, but must be a tad larger and it's hard to tell, as they bumper guards have been chopped off a bit on both sides.

So Dimitrov has a custom stick which one cannot buy at the shop?

If you have enough money, you can buy one either from a prostock shop or you can go to a tour tournament he is in and pay the VIP level fan package and meet the tour players at a reception and you can ask him personally! Dimitrov gets his racquets from Wilson custom shop since he is a top tour player and has a signature/endorsed racquet. He gets all of them for "free". Wilson sents like 10 racquets to him ahead to the tournament's pro shop awaiting his stringing instructions.

Has he given any away in the past?

Yeah, they look different. The first one has the little indents on the sides that the new, 97 doesnt. First one must be the 93.

Good eye. It didn't look like a Wilson.

Here is high res of the first image. The angle mostly obscures the shared hole, but still slightly visible on the higher side of the throat. The pws shape is different. If you see different angles from the same match the beam width is obviously thinner and grommet channel ending differ.

He's got a continental backhand grip? I thought most pros with a 1hbh had an eastern backhand grip.

He's got a continental backhand grip? I thought most pros with a 1hbh had an eastern backhand grip.
With the exception of him and Fed. I would say more between eastern and continental. Fed even said it himself that he doesn't even know what grip his uses on his backhand:p

from continental to eastern grip, the list gies like this :

1. Grigor
2. Roger
3. Stan/Rishar

Grigors grip is really wuerd, though, check his wrist at contact point, it is not cocked

So Dimitrov has been cleaning up lately.
It is the new 97s that has changed his fortunes. The last iteration of the 97s had a higher swingweight. Is this what made th difference. ?
And does anyone know for sure if he is using the 97s for real. Is it in stock form like fed and his 97a ??
Is it really a 97?
Please anyone who has this info chime in. Thanks, Dan
New 97S ? does that really mean it is the Spin version ?? I just think that thing is only string pattern difference and is just a gimmick.....I personally lose too much control with open string pattern

i thought you use open pattern sticks. you have always used pure drives and the like?? has something changed? what are you using now?

So the Dimtrov 93 seems a tiny bit thicker..but both are very close to a dime.
Bad! Have you hit with it? So, if you put the 18x17 pattern in the one to the right, then that would be Dimitrov's racquet?

Yup, I've hit with it... every once in a while I do! But hard to judge, the grip is huge!
From what I understood, yeah it seems he went back to this mold, but 18x17... which he had played after mine and before experimenting!
Dolgopolov used to play a PS original 95, pj-obed, then also switched to a different pattern, but a same frame as before!

Damn that's pretty small..I wonder how people play with these small head sized rackets, I can't play with anything less than 98 head size. My younger brother (13 years old) played with a Dunlop racket which was 90 square inches for 2 years he won a lot of matches with it I was surprised
I play with a 90 without any problem whatsoever...it's all about preference!

^^^The 18x17 97S was more of a control pattern for me when I used it. I can't understand why Wilson made it so HH when Grigor likes his sticks HL. Either way, the latest 97S was a great racquet that was ruined with its HHness. True shame.

This his the perfect opportunity for Wilson to launch a proper boxed beam midsize Pro Staff, and have Dimitrov endorsing it

The true heir of the 6.0 95, something the Pro Staff 95 never achieved

Because he used to put 20g of lead in the handle.
Well, that makes sense. Wilson has always had a thing for HH racquets. This racquet only needed to be a few Pts more HL (for us real people to use) and it would've been better than the Blades and Pro Staffs.
