It is good to see that he is enjoying his tennis again after including Vallverdu in his team. As for Rafa he refers to him as his idol, this is a bit surprising, since his game is a bit similar to Federer atleast stroke wise.
Now I can see why Nadal pinpointed Dimitrov as the future no. 1 years ago when asked who would be that. Seems they are in good relationship.

Grigor Dimitrov: 'Nadal is my biggest inspiration, you can send him to war anytime'
omg really?

You can send Nadal to war anytime?

Newspapers will be like:

"Nadal pulls out of World War 3 due to wrist injury"

"Nadal pulls out of World War 4 due to stomach virus"

"Nadal pulls out of World War 5 because he grabbed a hot plate in a restaurant"

"Nadal takes MTO while Germany is bombing Spain"

"Spain lost to England because Nadal and his troops were too busy picking their butts before firing their guns"

"Nadal pulls out of World War 6 because German troops are employing dogs to fight Spain"

And then he complains of ranking his performance for every war and wants to change it once in a century, when he's due to get his retirement benefits. And increase the timeouts during war in battlefield, although he takes them unfairly already.

He will also request the battle field changed to a softer grass and all rocks and debris removed, as this is not good for the knees, no?

Fedfans are always miffed every time an objective opinion is expressed re Federer and Nadal.

And your point is? Soldiers do get injured in battle.

Obviously Nadal can't go to war at any time, especially in a very hot day. In Australian Open he once demanded to be given night matches because day matches are too hot and dehydrating and make him sweat too much.

´I feel I can actually relate to him a little bit. The way he is I think on the court and I think a little bit where he comes from and his fighting spirit. Rafa is one of the workhorses that is just unbelievable. You can send him to war any time, any day, so that’s pretty amazing.´

But Baby Fed's "Daddy" can't go to war at all!
Sources: ¤¤ Like all male Swiss citizens, Federer was subject to compulsory military service in the Swiss Armed Forces. However, in 2003 he was deemed unfit because of a long-standing back problem and was subsequently not required to fulfill his military obligation.¤¤

He prefers peace, not war.

Peace is way more classier than the grunting injured whining fist pumping knee kicking warrior bull.

To be fair though, neither Federer or Nadal looks like the combat ready type. They're both way too gentlemanly.

He obviously wishes he could play like Rafa.
He obviously wishes he could play like Federer, but once he realized that that is not happening looked for something more modest to draw inspiration from.

Not that I am calling Nadal modest, mind you (he is far from that), just his style compared to Federer's.

:(

Well, he does have a back problem.

Plus, the Swiss are neutral. Their army is neutral/neutered too. Why do they even bother to have an army anyway?
It doesn't matter that Switzerland is a neutral state. Switzerland has mandatory military service.
So, you confirm what I wrote above: Baby Fed's "Daddy" can't go to war at all.

Can you refer to the decision that makes Federer unavailable for the Swiss army and/or his exclusion of it?

Dimitrov says Nadal is his idol. What part of that don't you understand?

You can always tell when Tennis_Hands has lost the argument, he starts splitting hairs.
You can always tell when the trolls are on the move.

They either look up at each other (give a shout to your friend little 6666) or use the most lame arguments as per respective VB member.

EDIT: octomum, I hope that you are not spreading false stories about Feddie while imagining things.

Except that even Federer wishes he could play like Nadal.

The injured warrior Nadal must go to war only at night no?

The sun is too hot, dehydrating, and the special Nadal needs more rest and special treatment no?

Committee chief Craig Tiley told AS: "We could see that Rafa had lost a lot of fluids and his team asked us for the longest time possible for his recovery. We are in permanent contact with players' teams and this decision was good for both parties.

"It's better for Rafa to play during the night session because although he has recovered and rested well, playing at night will give him more rest. Everything points to heat stroke, but we are confident that from here until the match everything will be fine. His stomach is perfectly ok now," said Toni Nadal after overseeing his nephew's training session on the covered practice court 4.
