Dimitrov to Head (prestige) in 2015

PS - it was 16x19. With about 3" of lead at 12.

As far as where they are made: Wilson has a video on YouTube that shows much of the process - while it's harder than stamping out a car door skin, it's not splitting the atom - so those who think it can't be outsourced to other countries, even for the pros, might want to rethink that.

Terrific info, keep it coming. Do you have any pictures?

China also makes lots of semiconductor chips. Making semiconductor chips is quite a bit harder than making tennis racquets.

Gilles Simon will not be signed again in 2015 since the "ball problem" happened in Paris Bercy i think...
They need a big name for the Prestige Line (except Cilic)...

Del Potro's wilson contract end at the end of 2014 but no other brand want him because he wants to much money, doesn't play at the moment and is not easy to satisfy...

Reason why Head will try his best to get Dimitrov... and imagine everything possible in therms of marketing with Maria ;-))))

Maybe he could go with an Instinct PJ and Berdych over to the Radical MP.

Doubt he'll make the switch -- he's too valuable to Wilson.
You would think - but who knows what he's asking for. It is ironic that he's now being represented by the Fed/Godsick Team 8 agency.

Yes. Just proves that if you set up an foreign outsourcer with the same equipment, document the work processes accurately, and proper quality control checks, you can make even complex items. Oh, and maybe make a few trips to do spot checks - I've met a few people doing just that on the LAX-PVG flight.

Stringers here said he's probably staying with Wilson.

We'll find out Monday - unless he's still hitting blacked out Heads in Brisbane - LOL!

Wait, so it's a 97? Thought it was a 93 (which made me think of prestige mid or PC600) .

Dimitrov played an unreleased custom Pro Staff with a 93 square inch head, which was originally designed for Federer from what I know.

The other poster meant that Dimitrov is staying with Wilson, only that he will be using a Pro Staff 97.

By the way, the PC600 and the Prestige Mid are 89.5 square inch racquets, the advertised 93 square inches are false.

Rasheed hates the Federer comparisons. The first thing he did as coach was remove the "The New Fed" line from his ATP website profile. He also told him "you won't wear pink shoes again while I'm coaching you."

I wouldn't be surprised if he forced him to stop using the same paint job as Federer. He probably blacked out the frames to give Wilson a chance to come up with another line of players frame that doesn't look like Feds racket. If they won't do that, a switch to Head is likely.

OK. I have news from the Brisbane stringing room. It is another custom mold frame. 97 sq. inch head, 18x17 pattern, 20mm beam, 333g.

I'll let you know if I hear anything else, but it may be hard as P1 are in Brisbane and doing his stringing

Ok thank you spin to win. If dimitrov is now using a 97, BUT NO PWS, and a 20 mm beam, that rules out PS 97. However, since it's a 97 it rules out prestige, which is 95 sq in (marketed as 98), so ????

Also, I'm guessing 333g is unstrung, what is the balance and swingweight? If you can, how about the strung specs too? Thanks.

Sounds a lot like a custom Wilson racquet, maybe one of the prototypes Roger rejected... A shame that we'll likely never see it hit the market.

Interesting move I guess... Hope he won't loose his game after it. If it's real change. I'm very curious about it all.

Stringer here who was servicing him during his winter training/testing said Wilson pulled out 'one of their classic designs'.

Would have been a feather in Head's cap if they could have 'turned' him. But I think they were just being used by Team8 to get GD the $$$$ they wanted.

Just saw a post from Victoria Azarenka during Kids Day at Brisbane. She was with Grigor also. He was using a wilson frame in the kids day thing so he's probably officially with Wilson.

Epic find :-)

So, it looks like an RF 97 mold with pws and 18x17 pattern.
Wonder if he's going to get a PS97 PJ? Would be strange if he got an RF97 PJ?

My God these pics trully represent how Grigor is trying to be Roger´s shadow. Now he got his racket too (yeah different string pattern I know..)

So he's gonna be using a PS97LS with 18x17 instead of 18x16, and obviously customized to his spec. Will he have a custom layup?

@lidoanzdiabloboi, thanks for sharing; nice find.

The stencil does mean a contract has been signed. The stringers here said they had to remember NOT to put them on during the testing and contract negotiations.

Mimicking Rogi (if that's what he's doing) has gotten him to 11 in the world.

Hell, I'd try to look more like Stepanek if it meant being 11 in the world.
