not sure how DirectTV or DIRECTV of whatever....does Direct TV carry the tennis channel? or is it an add-on that costs extra if they even do carry it? thanks in advance!

No, but Zoom carries it

Actually it is Voom.

DirecTV is suppose to be in negotiations with the Tennis Channel, but they have been saying that for awhile now. When my DirectV contract is up I will go to Voom unless they get the Tennis Channel on their programming..

We should make a habit of calling cable and satellite companies just to ask them if they carry The Tennis Channel.

If they hear it enough times, maybe they would see the demand and expedite the negotiations so that it is more readily available.

Yeah, sure.

I tried calling the cable company for The Tennis Channel. All they said was, "We will put in your request and if enough people ask for it, we'll carry it." Yeah right....

VOOM Rocks! They will be showing the Sampras / Phillipousis match tonight from the Davis Cup a few years back.

The Tennis Channel has been trying to get DirectTV on board since before TTC was even on the air. Still no dice. I don't know why DirectTV continues to keep dragging their feet. It sucks because I really want the TTC. I'm been signing petitions and calling DirectTV for years to no avail. :(

Well for about 7 months now I have called and called and e-mailed and e-mailed Directv, and I have also signed the petition on TTC website as well. Interestingly enough, I have met 6 or 7 people that have done the same and we have all gotten the exact same response-
Basically it goes like this,
We are sorry but Directv does not offer this channel at this time, we hope to be able to offer it in the future.

What a joke,

But I can tell you this according to how my luck goes,
I can give you the date they will add it,

Around two weeks after I spend hundreds of dollars getting Voom, I will come to these forums and someone will be posting how Directv just added it.

That's about how these things work out for me.

Well, on behalf of everyone else, would you please hurry up and subscribe to Voom

thanks

Scott, Voom only cost around 50.00 bucks a month for the basic package (which includes the tennis channel). You get all of the other basic cable stuff offered by directtv, and other satellites.

thanks

thanks guys, i'm getting a new HDTV and was shopping around for satellite providers. here in chicago, cable is just rediculously high. comcast here charges around 50 bucks a month for basic, and the basic almost makes me want to puke. i've had regular tv all my life so when it came time to step up i was really pumped to get a chance to see some tennis. they pump the tennis channel all the time at best buy as well as direct tv, it just seems odd.

so voom is also $50 bucks a month.... i think that's where i'll be headed. i know one bonus about direct tv is that they include local channels so you don't have to turn off the receiver. does anyone know if voom includes local channels?

A year ago we had a petition at every tennis club to add the tennis channel toour local cable co. It worked, was added, and last summer the same cable co. broadcast Adult tennis league matches, Jr tennis, and local tourneys, then made them free VOD. If you have a real Satellite dish, thetennischannel is free.

Could you expand this comment, Ronaldo? I do have a satelite dish (Direct TV); what you said is that I can 'tune' TTC? Or you said that I need a 'real' satellite dish, not the DTV one, to tune TTC?
