Dirty Dancing....Fed's favorite movie!

I like Dirty Dancing 2!. Or at least the guy in it. And some of the songs. And Cuba. I'm dancing right now thinking about the Cuba song.

No biggie in liking Dirty Dancing, although Roger's the only guy I know that's a fan. But I respect him for thinking it's an action movie. Roger has hungry eyes in the still of the night. He's like the wind.. okay I'll stop. Maybe the wedding put him in a dancing mood.

lmao! This reminds me of when you were talking about simon and his bedroom eyes. I think that was you.

TROY!?? TROY Gilles!??!?!?!?!?! ****ING TROY!?

god out of everyone i thought you'd be the one to say gladiator.

Ah yes, Good Ol' Gilles Bedroom Eyes Simon. That's why he likes to lose the first set, you know, it's a type of foreplay.

Roger's making me want to watch Dirty Dancing today.

(<.<) (>^.^)>

(>.>) <(^.^<)

mhm..... veronique, the charming sassy intellectual type who knows all of Rafa's stats... deep down is a girl with a big crush on her big hunky manly spaniard dreamboat

awwwwwwwwwwwwww

not!

you Rafa fans are crazy loco homes

(man i could star in latin movies with my crazy essa accent)
Yes I'm charming and Rafa is a dreamboat. You have a way with words you know, it's awfully hard to disagree with you :)

What about Ljubicic's? But I agree with you about Slumdog.

I love how chilled out Gonzo is, almost like how Simon looks(eyes). And speaking of Simon, TROY?!

Yeah Ljubicic is the only one that actually seems to know something or care about films. I didn't expect that they started naming Werner Herzog but at least some classic americans films (Scorcese, Woody Allen or something like that). Plus, the fact that young people doesn't say "Star Wars" anymore make me realize that I'm getting old, damnit. :?

wow, noone said 300, the lord of the rings, harry potter or the matrix. figured at least one of those would come out.

Somehow I was not surprised that "man purse boy" likes Dirty Dancing.
What is up with Rafa though? I know he likes his privacy and all, but goddamn boy, you can tell people what movies you like.

Yeah it may just mean the person doesn't like creativity, meaning or articulate dialogues in films (and loves big big machine guns!!)

I wonder if you would be saying the same thing if rafa answered the same way. People have a wide variety of tastes and a person liking action movies, doesn't mean they don't like creativity or meaning as well. Not everything goes hand in hand.

You don't have to be into american films to be into film, but you're right that of the players only ljubicic gave a reply that could really be considered thoughtful or informed, or culturally rather than commercially chosen. the others, it felt like you could have asked them *name any movie* and they'd have said the same one they did. except querrey, he seemed cool, and pretty happy with his choice. and roddick. again, the guy shows a bit more depth than most people think he has.

No seriously, I have some intelligent friends who like "dumb" movies (and not on some ironic level).

Some people are not that into movies and only watch blockbusters basically. Doesn't mean they're unintelligent though.

Hey don't take it too seriously. It's just that Rambo is the first thing that comes up when people want to parody dumb action movies, so it made me laugh. I don't really care what Roger's favorite movies are.
All I know about Rafa is that he likes the TV series prison break and lost. He also mentioned Gladiator in a different interview.

No, it just means they have bad taste in movies :)

the new rambo is seriously a guy movie.. the older rambos were cutting edge in their time. Although commando was much better imo.

Gladiator was set in Rome, a european area which draws the european audience to it much more than Americans. The same could be said for Braveheart, but both were good movies in their own rights.

I lolled at Dirty dancing and was amazed at Troy. Did someone like that film I nearly walked out even Brad's toned body couldn't make that into a good film.

Most of these guys are young - give them time to move onto better movies.. And as Gonzo said, these guys are pretty tired after a long day (season)'s work and a movie that makes them think is not really what they want..

Just FYI Rambo 1 was actually considered a pretty decent film. It bears little resemblance to the goofy movies that followed it. They really aren't the same thing at all.

Ultra-violent formulaic braindead supermacho militaristic propaganda (just my honest opinion :D)

Rambo 1 isn't even that violent. Have you ever SEEN the movie? How would it be militaristic propaganda? Do you know what it's really about? It's not a movie I would say is anywhere near a "favorite" of mine, or even one I would watch again, but your opinion in this case is just wrong. I wonder if it has anything to do with Federer liking it.

Well Rafa has a very good taste in TV shows. Both are some of my favorite shows. :)

I don't know how about prison break, but I tried watching lost and it just didn't do it for me. Now House is a great show.

Lost used to be a great show. It's crap now however in the current season. House is great. Battlestar Galactica is amazing, as we as any Joss Whedon TV show ever made.

gilles simon made me crack up w/his weirdness when answering the question. i was just thinking how come nobody said shawshank redemption and then roddick said its his fav, thats my favorite movie of all time and lotr 2 towers is a close 2nd.

Yep, I think a problem with people that become so super-specialized (as pro athletes are) is that sometimes they end up being very one dimensional human beings. But I guess that having to train so hard (and after matches party so hard) doesn't give them to much time to care about other stuff. Actually people like Nalbandian who has tons of "hobbies" is criticized because of not putting enough work into tennis.
Anyway, I don't what people see in Gladiator. Crappy blockbuster movie if you ask me.

Oh no! I may not have seen the first one, I don't know. What I saw was horrendous and Stallone's acting (if you can call it that) made me shudder. It's militaristic in the mindless glorification of violence. All characters are caricatures, dialogues are silly, the violence is systematically overblown.
I do agree the first film of a series is generally the most interesting though. The first Robocop for instance was made by Verhoeven and it was an intriguing B movie with ambitious themes. The sequels were pure Hollywood trash. However Verhoeven is a better director than Kotcheff. Artistically Rambo makes one cringe. I know the Rambo story (novel?) was originally antiwar but the film distorted the whole story and IMO didn't make much sense at all in the end.
PS: same thing for Alien, a taut suspenseful dark film by Ridley Scott turned into soulless megabuster mush by the infamous Cameron (again!)

I don't like any of those shows either but I have a friend who is addicted to "lost". I don't know "house". I watch DVDs most of the time, so I don't know much about TV programs.

I feel like you might like house or you might hate it, but I'm leaning towards the liking it. The main character is very cycnical and has this sarcastic type humor. Its a medical show, but I think very different from most medical shows, because the doctor is like the complete antithesis of how doctors are usually potrayed, which is compassionate towards their patients, etc.

House is frickin awesome!!!!!

I'll give it a try!

No no no, it's fun, a little cheesy but well filmed, well acted, very enjoyable.

Fed and Dirty dancing. He either wishes he was cool like Patrick Swayze with all the moves, or, he sees himself as a Linda Grey character being told what to do at every move. But instead of Swayze, Fed's got Mirka to take charge of his every strep.

Dirty Dancing is probably the last film he watched...too busy with his tennis, his foundation, his photo shoots, his socail life.

I think it was just a glib answer from Federer to what he would perceive as a silly quesiton.

House M.D is the reason I have ambition for getting into med school :)

Thats awesome. Whenever I watch the show I think it would be cool to be a diagnostician, but then I remember I'm not passionate it about it. Then again, I'm studying to be a pharmacist and I don't even have an ounce of passion for that as well.

Unfortunately, I have never seen that show. Everyone I know tells me it is an amazing show. I will watch it this summer since it is the end of senior year. :D

Its actually not that bad. I don't really keep up though. My friend is a huge fan and she kept convincing me to watch it. I think it just took some time to get used to because I feel like they way its shot, it looks like a reality tv show, but its pretty funny. Steve Carell is amazing in it.

I'm still baffled as to why almsot everyone went for gladiator. were they given a sheet before the interview with a list of films to choose from and that was the best one on the list? or maybe they're all so busy the last blockbuster they remember is Gladiator.
Rafa said before he likes gladiator too on other interviews. Respect to Roger for admitting he liked dirty dancing. It takes a real man to admit he likes Swayze's gyrating hips.

OH MY FREAKIN GOD...LMAO
