1. Rafa is impartial as usual.

2. A lot of them like "the Gladiator"...especially hispanics.

3. I'm surprised by Roddick's choice.

4. Ljubicic embodies the patriotism that every person from Balkan has with his choice. I'm glad, he is not mainstream.

5. Fed and Dirty Dancing. That's where he gets his amazing footwork LOL :)

6. what is so great about Braveheart?

What do you guys think? Do their choices of films reflect their attitude on court?

Nobody puts Roger in the corner.

(You knew it was coming.)

I've never seen the appeal of either Gladiator OR Braveheart. Andy's choice is one of my favorites as well. I'm just like him. Whenever it's on, I'm most likely to watch it. It pulls you in every time.

They reflect their age and the mainstream Hollywood blockbuster imposed taste. Save Ljubicic. And Gonzo who'd rather sleep, must be tiring busting hundreds of tennis ball in practice.

Andy R had the best choice of all. Shawshank Redemption is IMO greatest film ever. quite a shock that the Spaniards liked the movie about the great "Spaniard" Slumdog Millionaire was some cheesy stuff but was still good.

well actually roger said he liked action movies, like rambo, but then he mentioned dirty dancing. I have no idea how dirty dancing is an action movie, but whatever. I loved roddick's choice and also nole's.

No one said The Godfather . Braveheart and Shawshank are both in my top 10, terrific movies. Lol i was surprised when Andreev said he likes Tarantino movies and followed it up with Kill Bill, lol was expecting Pulp Fiction.

Yeah I think he said action movies like Rambo, James Bond, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing...Agreed with most except dirty dancing...

I agreed with Shawshank Redemption too...one of the best movies ever made!

Gladiator is a very good movie too but I didn't expect sooo many of them to like Gladiator!

Fed is hilarious! Rambo, James Bond, Top Gun,....Dirty Dancing???

So tennis players outside of Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic seem to have ehh taste in movies. Though I kind of like how Sam seemed like a real American 20 year old the rest I don't know all the gladiators and braveheart made it seem as if that was all they could say in english lol.

Did anyone notice both Andy's mentioned Shawshank Redemption?

Why does Rafa just not answer the question lol..I am now extremely curious on his movie.

And I'm with Andy Murray on Will Ferrell movies.

I'm surprised roddick picked "The Shawshank Redemption". He looks like someone who prefers something like "Scream" or "Not Another Teen Movie" as a personal favorite.

I don't get the "Gladiator" and "Braveheart" thing. It's not that they're bad movies at all, but c´mon.

PS: If you ask a Spaniard for his favourite food, 90% of them will say some kind of Spain's food.

PS2: Oh, no, "Dirty Dancing"... no way, man.

I'm still baffled as to why almsot everyone went for gladiator. were they given a sheet before the interview with a list of films to choose from and that was the best one on the list? or maybe they're all so busy the last blockbuster they remember is Gladiator.
Rafa said before he likes gladiator too on other interviews. Respect to Roger for admitting he liked dirty dancing. It takes a real man to admit he likes Swayze's gyrating hips.

A lot of athletes list Gladiator and/or Braveheart as their favorite movie.
Both movies deal with battles, pride, courage, honor, heroes/villains, power, vengeance, tragedy...the main characters fought for something they believed in. I can definitely see why athletes respond to both movies.

As for Dirty Dancing...lol

I don't know what was "Dirty Dancing" but I guess there must be a lot of man purses in it.

I like how the media painstakingly create an image of Roger as more sophisticated and even "intellectual" than the lot and the first film title that pops into his mind is "Rambo" (most violent/macho and dumbest movie ever made )
The most sophisticated answer was actually Djoko's. At least he's aware of interesting new films that one could have a nice conversation about! (slumdog millionaire)
Rafa seems open to anything, so if we went on a date, I could hope he would let me choose the film!
PS: I'm really not into action films in general but I must say I enjoyed Gladiator, it was quite entertaining and well made.

What about Ljubicic's? But I agree with you about Slumdog.

I love how chilled out Gonzo is, almost like how Simon looks(eyes). And speaking of Simon, TROY?!

Just because a person picked rambo, doesn't mean he or she is not intellectual, sophisticated, but whatever.

^^Choice of films has nothing to do with sophistication..another pathetic logic of yours..
Also , Slumdog Millionaire might've impressed many but it did nothing to me.It showed something I see everyday and to see it in cinema is downright boring .So its a matter of choice and choice of movie reveals nothing about anybody
edit-the novel is good though.

I did think it was a good movie but no way did it touch me..when you live in India and see the things shown in a movie in real life everyday,it just dosen't .
Thats not what I go to cinema for..I like films which are either reality or complete fiction..not a bit of both..it just disturbs me.

Yeah, I guess. I'm indian as well, but was born and brought up in America, so it was different for me to see. Both my parents are from villages so when I go to India, its not like I'm seeing the city life, but its definitely no where near what was potrayed in the movie. I haven't read the book yet but I heard it was quite different.

I like Dirty Dancing 2!. Or at least the guy in it. And some of the songs. And Cuba. I'm dancing right now thinking about the Cuba song.

No biggie in liking Dirty Dancing, although Roger's the only guy I know that's a fan. But I respect him for thinking it's an action movie. Roger has hungry eyes in the still of the night. He's like the wind.. okay I'll stop. Maybe the wedding put him in a dancing mood.
