Disappointed with Adidas replacement guarantee

I sent in a pair of black Adidas Barricade V Classic shoes because I had worn them out in less than 6 months. Adidas sent me back a pair of white Barricade 8's. I was wearing the Barricade Vs because I hate the 8's stiffness and constant toe jams. I guess that's why they had this pair lying around. Since the Barricade Vs are still a current model listed on adidas' website, I was surprised and disappointed that they would arbitrarily send me another model from the type I returned.
 
I've never dealt with sending shoes in personally to Adidas, but I've heard numerous stories locally about how they'll just send you whatever they want to, whether it's the same model or not. Doesn't seem right to me.

Have you contacted customer line of adidas?

Although it is never guaranteed to match exact model/color, they usually match it unless the model discontinued.

This may be a simple mistake by adidas.

Ya, I burned through a pair of the Djokovic 7's and Adidas didn't have any of those to send me. They were able to send me a pair of V's instead of the 8's. The employee is charge of the Barricade warranty program is super nice and helpful but can only work with the product they give her.

Do you know how Adidas ships the shoes back (UPS/FedEx/USPS)? Also, do they let you know when the shoes ship out? I'm waiting on a pair and forgot to ask. Thanks!
