DISASTER... Ran out of MATCH PRO strings (Tennis Tech)

Semi-Pro
Its only when you lose something you love you realise its true worth.

I use a string called "Match Pro" distributed by Tennis Tech, here in the UK (sometimes called German Match Pro)

Well with a spectacular twang on Saturday they exploded in my racket on a forehand, no matter I thought I will restring, but to my horror I realised that one of my back ups had Kevlar in from when I did an unsuccessful experiment using it, and the other one had not been restrung because I had been too lazy last time. Anyway I completed the match with the Kev racket, and when I got home I looked at ,my reel of Match Pro and realised I didnt have enough left. Instead I strung a couple of rackets up in other strings to use today

OMG I have to report "Quelle Disaster", I understand why I love the Match pro so much now. It was the first poly I ever used over 10 years ago(or ever saw) and I believe its still the best. An undiscovered gem. I will be on the phone first thing in the morning and will NEVER let this happen again.

What's the price for a set and a reel for Match Pro Nicky? Can't seem to find one on the tennis tech site.

OOPS I did indeed post it twice, and the drama is over, Im all replenished phewww! Hey Xenakis they are around £25 for 200m, its super cheap but I LOVE it.

Have a few sets of it too nick. Like it well enough but not as much as the Hex 1.10 I bought off them. It is cheap as chips though although I would prefer it in less than 1.25.

How does it play I was considering taking a look ?

Smirker - have you tried Pro's Pro Blackout? I have been an MSV Hex user for several months now and wouldn't have considered changing until I stumbled on Blackout on 'the Bay'. It was described as having very similar properties as MSV Hex, Blackcode etc but I was initially sceptical, mainly due to the brand (snobbery, I know!). However, I looked it up on stringsforum.net and it has been reviewed very favourably, so I was tempted into buying a 200m reel - hardly a plunge though at £28!

I strung up my 2 Babolat pure drive Roddicks up with it earlier this week and I have to say that I'm very pleased with my purchase. The string plays very similar to Hex, offering excellent levels of spin and little string movement. Yes, you will find that it begins to feel dead after 6 hours of hitting, but so does the Hex! Not to mention the fact that frequent restrings are affordable at the price.

As TW don't stock Pro's Pro I hope it's OK to mention that it is sold by JFC-Sports both on the bay and on their website. Definitely worth a look if you like hexagonal string.

I read on tennis tech that the Match Pro has very low coeff. of friction hence theoretically would allow for much more spin. For those of you who have played with this string is that really the case?

I have to admit I love the RPM Blast 17g but with price ranging between £100 to £150 a reel it is a not of money.

If Match Pro plays similar and with a price tag of £25 ish a reel, I'd go with them anytime.

I tried the MSV Focus HEX 1.23 mm after the massive good reviews here and on forums elsewhere but to be honest, it is not as powerful as RPM Blast...
