Still travelling for the holidays and haven't gotten to hit at all :'( but my mind's on improvement and here's a thought I was having. What dictates "disguise" on the service? How important in your opinion is it to disguise kick serves from flat serves (as I feel the pronation motion kinda gives it away)?
As I improve my flat serve I feel like I'm opening my chest less, giving an earlier warning that I'm throwing a fastball, but 1) I'm not sure it's actually that different 2) my kick might just naturally get a more closed form as my flat does 3) do I really care if they know flat or spin early in the motion, they still gotta react to placement?
Or is disguise just having a good enough toss people can't tell from that and the rest is unimportant?
On that note here's a quoted post with some of my serves from another thread, rate how well disguised you'd consider my serve (or do I need to show of from the receiver perspective?):

Alright no one else was out tonight but I propped up the phone on my hopper against the wall and hit a few serves to end the night. Wanted to give an honest impression so I hit 2 warmup swings then 10 balls hitting flat. I think I went 5-5 in/ out. Not my best but alright for the conditions imo.
Since I know guys who hit bomb first serves then can't hit a second serves is a trope I hit 5 second serves just to show that 5-5 on firsts isn't unreasonable (also took 2 warm ups here).
Hit one let then the next 4 in. (The second wasn't where I aimed but still in the box hence the head shake).
Finally for reference, this is a 115mph I tracked on the app a month or two ago iirc. It's one of the only two serves I've tracked on the app as I just wanted to try it out. Not super convenient to use bc someone has to sit there and record for you or I'd use it more.
Edit: my name is Cody Nelson and I play in Clemson SC rn if you wanna check my rating. I'm at 3.5 self-rate right now, but that was when I was still shaking the rust back off. Won a doubles tourney semi recently so and I'm going to try and attend enough next year to at least get bumped to 4.0
