Missed the last cross on my pure drive. Tied off early instead of stringing the bottom cross. Is it still playable if I did not string the last cross? Having a newborn and trying to string in the middle of the night is tough.

I goofed around with wacky stringing patterns a long time ago - every other hole, dense in the middle with open outer strings, etc... Just for fun, mainly. I never broke a frame doing this, and it was surprising how radical you'd need to get the pattern before it'd be really "unplayable". Just one missing cross is likely not a problem at all and I'd be surprised if you even noticed it. If you're really worried and don't mind two extra knots you can still weave in that last cross. Personally, I'd just leave it and play it.

i left off the last cross on a 16x19 100” frame and played some of my best tennis ever that way. sometimes i consider doing it every time...

Congrats on the baby. Get some sleep and don't sweat one missed cross. Really isn't something you need to be concerned about.

Shouldn't be a problem with a Pure Drive.

Deliberately tried doing in on a Yonex frame a while back and the impact vibration was horrendous. Was a soft flexible frame though, nothing like the Pure Drive.

Appreciate the comments. Might try to hit with it or just restring it. Wouldn't care if I did it on my 2012 Roddick, but since this was on a 2018 PD, I'll be thinking about it more.

When ive done this for one reason or another on my racquets, i restrung it almost after the 1 or 2 hits with it,,,
it was not that it played bad and/or if I could tell a difference in play,, but simply because the "ooopss", kept staring me in the face... haaaaa
