Djoko screaming at the ball kid...

Hmmm I would have to say he indeed seems to scream at the ball kid, though I may be wrong (not likely). Oddly, I am not that disappointed by it. Idk why.

I don't understand why he's so angry? Did he make some clear and definitive motion to indicate he wanted the towel prior to this? No. No he did not.

Agreed. Even though he did scream towel, it wasn't entirely directed at the ball kid, it was more of frustration outburst and some of it was screaming at his team.

He will always will be remembered as fake and an a-hole.
Frustrated excuse? When under pressure, a person's true behavior comes out.
Kyrios should start talking about Djokovic's treatment of ballkids on social media.

To be fair to Nole, when under pressure he is usually cool as a cucumber. But this is just sad to subject children to this kind of abuse.

ball kid should towel whip him in the face and see Nole's response. Someone should volunteer just to irritate these entitled pricks.

Djokovic is not a bad guy. Hes not the best guy but no one is perfect. In competition you get heated, its intense. Maybe some of what makes it so hard for new players to come up and beat the Big 3 is that players are under such a microscope out there now. You get frustrated or yell a little bit and people will have a go at you. Reality is these are people out there trying their best in the game called tennis. Its frustrating and repressing those feelings is not always a good thing. Among players its a known thing and generally accepted as part of the game. Only spectators use it as fuel for the fire.

Haha, yes!

Or just stay in position and shout NOOOOO! as loud as possible (y)

All these boys and girls are like miniature Gandhis out there... in a world of spoilt children in adult bodies.

There’s no excuse for this. Stop trying to justify it.

I might be a huge fan of his game and he seems like a great guy off court but even I had to flinch when I saw him yelling like that. Very disappointing behaviour indeed.

Djokovic obviously has problems with anger management. He's quick-tempered, so with stress in the mix you get such outbursts. Behavior like this is why I don't agree that Novak is the most gracious in defeat. It's cool to be able to smile and hug it out with your opponent when you lost, but it doesn't erase being pissed off and acting out if things don't go your way during matches.

BTW, was it really a kid he yelled at? The linesmen and girls on the opposite side look mature so it's possible Novak didn't lash out on a teen. Not that it'd make it ok, but at least less awful because a grownup person can respond.

He's not yelling "towel" and gesticulation is a semi face-palm not "give me towel" one. LOL at guy's twitter account page design, a bit bizarre Nadal worship obsession.

I get pretty mad sometimes so I can understand where he's coming from. However, I try to contain my anger to myself. It's not a good idea to involve other people in it. It could be that he's not yelling "towel", though.

Booooo bad angle. He was yelling at his box and scared the ball kid inadvertently there.
Yes I know he didn't mean to shout at the kid but you can tell from the kid's face and reaction that he thought it was directed at him. He had a "I'm outta here fast" look on his face.

Djokovic has to be careful he doesn't yell like that when a ballkid is trying to hand him a towel so as to avoid these misunderstandings. I posted that vid to show he'd done it before so I'm surprised he hasn't learned his lesson by now.

Yes, that is true. These other posters saying he is not yelling "towel" are peaking my interest though. Don't the pros usually wave their hand sideways across the face when asking for the towel? Perhaps wishful thinking though.

Yeah it was disappointing reaction. Didn't like when I saw it.

Bet this will be brought up an excessive number of times from now on though. That unfortunate Miami moment from few years back still lives on.

It is. My views on ballkids having to fetch and carry towels for the pampered players are well known (or should be by now).
I know! And we're among the loudest on this matter ;) It's disgusting on so many levels.

Ballboys and -girls deserve the biggest respect. They are just fantastic.

Also the way he's stressing the second part of the word when in 'towel' the first syllable is stressed. Listening closely, it doesn't sound like the word ends with -el.

Despicable... happy no one likes him
Oh please. You are not qualified to speak for everyone, especially when you have misinterpreted the situation.

Yes, he simultaneously yelled 'towel' while being angry for missing a shot. Better to not do this of course. But one would hope these kids have gotten some instructions that the players are often so focused on their professions that things said in the heat of the moment are not personally directed at them. Players also do not say 'thank you' every time a towel or ball is handed to a player. While obviously little humans, they are basically there to serve the players. I doubt they only get trained in how to roll balls...
