Djokodal have a better slam conversion rate since RG 2018 (15 for 17), then they did from 2010 RG-WI 2014 (14 for 18).

When Federer won his 20th slam, Djokodal needed to have a better 4-year stretch than 2010-2014 to have hopes of surpassing him and somehow, they did just that.

Not even joking Djokovic might win CYGS every year from 2019-2022 if his 2011-14 self replaced his older self lol. Nadal would also have a great chance if not for injury.

Just a sad, sad era. They still win slams even with a regular era, but more than 2010-2014? That’s including 2011 Djokovic and 2010 Nadal? Not even trying to discredit but come on. Would’ve loved to see a Murray/Stanimal/Delpo type come onto the tour 2017ish and get some serious battles going

I'm a Nadal fan but I recognise these last couple of years have been so weak. But any era will ever be worse than 2007-2015, the GOLDEN AGE OF MEN'S TENNIS.

Is there any other sport where a team or player’s stature in the game is denigrated based on the subjective evaluation of the opposition they faced? No, we just add up their records, add maybe a subjective eye test and state our opinions about them.

Why is it so prevalent on TTW for posters to think they can judge opposition fairly when it is clear that they are completely biased by which player is their favorite? Does this make any sense to anyone to think that any poster is magically able to evaluate the quality of opposition fairly from different times?

The job of sportspeople is to beat the people they compete against and not worry about how good they are. Also, it is not always true that younger players are better than when they are older as so much of sport is about mental toughness, confidence, tactical astuteness etc. which all typically get better with age. Tennis is not such a physical sport where athletes can’t play it well in their mid-thirties.
