Novak served better in the 2nd set against Gael, but Nishikori will be applying pressure on his serve right from the get go in the Final. His 2nd serve average was like 135 kmh this match against Gael. Downside, was Novak was super solid from the baseline. Come on Ninja!

It really is a vacuum now. I've never jumped on the "weak era" argument before, but I will now. Stan is a disappointment, Nadal and Federer out, no one stepping up. Murray is the only other guy left standing. No one is around to stop Novak except Novak himself.

I think he'll get some breaks of serve; the question is if he can beef up his own service to prevent being broken more often.

Big what? It is done and dusted. If Nadal comes back he may win some matches but I doubt he will win GS or 1000 again. Fed - put simply, forget about it. If he comes back he will be like Anderson. Both of them are lucky to be top 10 in this weak era. If this era was any stronger Nadal would be prob Top 10-13 and Fed until now Top 8-10, after 2016 Fed will drop further and may hope to mirror (if) what Goran did. Anything else is just a wet dream.
