Who is taking the 2016 Miami Open?

If Nishikori plays with confidence like at the 2014 USO then I think we will be in for a good treat. Nishi in 3 tiebreaker in the 2nd

Yet another one of those rare matches where tennis wins either way. Naturally I'm hoping to see Novak get the Masters record but I'd also be happy seeing Kei win his first MK1 title and he'd certainly be a worthy champion(he should really have a title at this level already). I'm really looking forward to this and am hoping for a great match which I'm sure they'll provide us with. :)

19 years old and spending every minute on a tennis forum is not healthy, you should go out more.
My schedule is just fine, thanks for your concern. :D
Just predict the outcome and end it there.

Straight set win for Djokovic. First set will be tight, second set will be a blowout after Nishikori lowers his level for a few games.

Yup. Novak will rope a dope him like so many others. He will run him like a rabbit in first set, and beat him down in the 2nd. Even if Kei wins first set he will be burnt to a crisp. Novak just makes you more miserable than anyone since agassi.

As is evident from the constant whining on here from his numerous haters. ;)

Kei's 2nd Masters final, Novak's 40th...

Novak in 3.
:eek::eek:
If I didn't know their names, their records, their previous matches vs. one another, but just had to make my decision based on performances this week, I would actually pick Nishi.

But given recent h2h, Djokovic' big match experience and temperament, Djokovic's ability to raise his level to whatever is needed to win and Djoko's opponents' abilities to miss 14 BP's of out 14 (Novak gifted one on a DF) and miss the easiest of overheads and just plain being scared to win vs. the unbeatable no. 1, it's both hard and foolish to pick against him.

Nevertheless – in this match thread, I'll be foolish. Djoko's serve's been a mess all week. He might get it back with a day's rest, but regardless of whether he does or doesn't, the Ninja – recently receiving invaluable lessons from the guru – will be all over it.

The pick: Nishi in 3.

Fun facts: Nishi is actually a very impressive 11-5 in finals and enjoys the greatest ever record in deciding sets with a 77,7 % win percentage (this year, he's a mere 2-2 though).
And no, I don't truly believe my pick, but I do think he's got a much better chance than I thought any of Djoko's previous victims would have had.

Lol, one thing I will say is that if Nishikori does win and as happy as I'd be for him(well, at least a good couple of hours after the match finishes anyway :D) a part of me will be cursing Monfils for letting those five match points slip through his fingers!

Whoever wins deserves to win.

As Djokovic2011 said, tennis wins either way imo.

Do you spend every minute of your life on TW? Seems like it.

The blossoming rivalry of tt it seems. Always thought it'd be you and CYGS. But I guess you two were too similar just with a different favourite. Haven't seen him for a while though, did the two of you finally merge together?

Djokovic in 2, very quick match. I think Nole will just overwhelm Nishi. Kei is capable of giving Novak some trouble, but not this time.

Novak seems to switch to top gear when playing Fed, Nadal, Andy, Stan, and Kei. I expect a 2 set beat down where Novak frustrates Kei into errors. Though Kei has been very impressive this week with his patience at the baseline and finishing at the net.

Nishikori didn't really put up a fight in the AO against Novak this year, I don't really think he's improved that much since then.

Djokovic in 2. 7-5 6-4

Kei in two or three, going by their current form. His baseline game is strong at the moment. It can frustrate Novak a bit. Plus the timing of the final favours Kei as Novak obviously struggles in the heat.

A very nice final! Here's hoping for Nishikori's maiden Masters 1000 championship.
