Even stylistically, Hewitt has more in common with Chang than he does with Ferrer.

Ferrer was also an aggressive counter puncher like Hewitt, Hewitt was just better at what he did though.

I've watched Ferrer alot of times and my impression was he always tried to be pretty aggressive and when he could he tried to dictate with his FH.

Ferrer was a solid player, I'll miss him.

Ferrer wasn't a counter puncher, more like a grinder with a very good forehand. Both he and Hewitt were aggressive players at their best though. Funny how they get called weaponless when it's far from the truth.

When I think of Ferrer, I instantly remember that huge choke job against Djokovic at Paris 2013.

Ferrer leans more towards the aggressive side, but used his great defence also to counter powerful players. He was pretty balanced, but lacked power and a serve.

Still an amazing career for such a small dude. Very talented. He really made most out of his career. That's someone who can reitre with no regrets at all.

Does that make Djokovic a counter puncher? Being a good defender =/= counter puncher.

Lol no. I didn't say that. I mean he could counter punch when he had to or needed to. But his mindset leaned towards being aggressive and be in command.

Peak Djokovic can lose to peak Federer, it's not a surprise.

The issue isnt that just he lost but that he was humiliated in straight sets. This is peak Djokovic we are talking about losing a grand slam final in a preferred surface in straight sets to Federer.... such humiliation... statistically there is no doubt 2007 is the best Novak we have seen at the USO:

Djokovic by the numbers at the US Open:
Ace percentage:
2007 8.9%
2011 5.6%
2015 7.1%

First serve %
2007 60.8%
2011 64%
2015 63.5%

First serve point won
2007 76.9%
2011 72.7%
2015 74.9%

Second serve point won
2007 56.8%
2011 54%
2015 61.3%

Hold percentage
2007 89.3%
2011 83.2%
2015 89.2%

Service point won
2007 69%
2011 66%
2015 69.9%

Return point won
2007 40.2%
2011 48.5%
2015 43.8%

In addition losing finals while in peak

This proves peak Nole is no match for peak Federer. Peak Djoko may well be the second best of all time, but he will always be second fiddle to the GOAT.

Considering peak djokovic who is uninjured, in form and world no 1 is inferior to Zverev, wawrinka, murray, kachanov, old fed i'd argue that Djokovic peak is comfortably top 200 of all time
