Ferrer wasn't a counter puncher, more like a grinder with a very good forehand. Both he and Hewitt were aggressive players at their best though. Funny how they get called weaponless when it's far from the truth.

Ferrer leans more towards the aggressive side, but used his great defence also to counter powerful players. He was pretty balanced, but lacked power and a serve.
Still an amazing career for such a small dude. Very talented. He really made most out of his career. That's someone who can reitre with no regrets at all.

Lol no. I didn't say that. I mean he could counter punch when he had to or needed to. But his mindset leaned towards being aggressive and be in command.

The issue isnt that just he lost but that he was humiliated in straight sets. This is peak Djokovic we are talking about losing a grand slam final in a preferred surface in straight sets to Federer.... such humiliation... statistically there is no doubt 2007 is the best Novak we have seen at the USO:
Djokovic by the numbers at the US Open:
Ace percentage:
2007 8.9%
2011 5.6%
2015 7.1%
First serve %
2007 60.8%
2011 64%
2015 63.5%
First serve point won
2007 76.9%
2011 72.7%
2015 74.9%
Second serve point won
2007 56.8%
2011 54%
2015 61.3%
This proves peak Nole is no match for peak Federer. Peak Djoko may well be the second best of all time, but he will always be second fiddle to the GOAT.
Considering peak djokovic who is uninjured, in form and world no 1 is inferior to Zverev, wawrinka, murray, kachanov, old fed i'd argue that Djokovic peak is comfortably top 200 of all time
