Djokovic 2008 vs Djokovic 2023 at Wimbledon who wins ??

So since everyone says a 20 year Carlos should be beating a 36 year old Djokovic I thought it be a good question to ask.

Djokovic at Wimbledon 2008 was 20 years old with 1 slam like Alcaraz and was mushed up by Safin in the 2nd round. While Djokovic was definitely faster and better mover back then it seems Djokovic now is way more complete mentally stronger and with experience I think he easily beats his 20 year old self.

Just food for thought if Djokovic does best Carlos

While I agree with you I still feel that Carlos shouldn’t be expected to beat Djokovic here since this Djokovic would beat his younger self at Carlos age.

Sure as I said in another thread Fed at 20 lost to Ancic at Wimbledon. I’m only mentioning this as Carlos is underrated for his age

Djokovic 2023 would beat any version of Djokovic before 2011. I remember 2010 Djokovic Wimbledon SF against berdych. Where Novak did better than 08. Back then Novak’s serve and FH were weaknesses still. He also was far less complete at net or slice, etc and not as strong physically or mentality. Djoko grass game was a working progress back then. This 2023 version would beat down that version pretty bad same with 2008 too. It wouldn’t be pretty.

Not on grass though. On other surfaces yes I agree he was a bit better. However, back then Novak was weakest on grass.
