I think Roddick would take it tbh. Djokovic was resolving to his pre-2011 self at times and he started cramping. Sure he'd take a set but the attacking tennis would get to him. Plus he won't get as many bp's with the Roddick serve.

Obviously Roddick. He's got the mental edge over Djokovic because he leads the h2h. 2016 Djokovic is poor against attacking players like Roddick. Put prime Roddick in this era and he wins at least a few Wimbledons and US Opens.

Roddick was a stiff as a scarecrow. Not sure he'd handle well every 140mph serve coming right back at him, and then running around the back of the court.
Honestly it's not that clear cut. Wawrinka's defensive skills on Sunday was uncanny considering his build. Did you see that point he won in the tie-breaker? How many times did Roddick ever play a similar one?

You mean "I agree", right? Or "agreed". :)
That's OK, you see this mistake a lot on the forum, oddly.

Not really a mistake, more like a shortened form. The 'I' is implicit as I am the one making the post.

Would beat 2016 Djokovic for sure. Stan...not sure, at least it would be much closer. But I did see Djokovic allow floating returns to land before playing his second shot and believe Roddick would have taken those out of the air and taken time away from Wawrinka. That's the key to beat him and Djokovic failed to do that because he himself hugged the back court tight.

.

That's also the only one he won in the tie-breaker. Stan is more complete, but Roddick with his serve doesn't need to be that complete. Sunday Djokovic's serve was not good enough, and while he returned well, he wasn't good on the break points.

I agree with others that an inform Roddick could take this match.

Idk if Andy can hang with Stan from the baseline over 5 sets....

Who says it would go 5? ;)

In all seriousness Roddick was playing well from the baseline against Federer in 2006, Stan would give away more errors then Roger and Federer was just as offensive off the ground. Stan would find it hard to break Roddick's serve and Roddick created quite a few opportunities against Federer in God mode. I think he takes it. Stan is better from the baseline compared to 2006 Andy but on the USO courts the difference shrinks a lot.

The points wouldn't be very long, Roddick was looking to come in quite a bit and Wawa doesn't pass as well as Federer. Would be a tough match.

My popcorn would be hot and ready regardless lol :D I miss Andy.
