Overall he has won 70% of all the big event finals he has played. That is insane.

In these events, the worst he has played is Olympics where he never made even a final.

The lowest finals contested outside Olympics is in Madrid where he has only 3 finals but he won all 3 times. There was a semi final vs Nadal where he squandered 4 MP. One of the rare instances.

The lowest conversion rate is in Cincinnati and it's still 38%. He was 0-5 in the finals before winning the next 3. He saved 1 CP in this final.

Another tidbit is while Djokovic's worst record is at Olympics, this being a tournament played after 4 years, he has only played 4 instances of it.

Didn't realise Federer came back from retirement to choke once again v/s the vulture in 2023.
Also didn't realise that a 4 year old Alcaraz was on the brink of defeating Djokovic in a master's final.

And? It’s still a big event and he hasn’t won it let alone made the F. I just find his comment puzzling since he’s made it a priority for so long yet he’s come up short each time. He’s literally exited the Olympics in tears multiple times, and had a huge meltdown in the latest edition which happened before this interview took place.

Olympics event has become big from 2008 so yeah that is big event and he failed there

somethings up with that. either he puts to much pressure on himself to win for his country (which i doubt since hes supposed to be good under pressure), or hes like Sampras & Connors and only motivated to play for himself

No Olympics is the only event which happens once every 4 years so there is very less data.

I saw your thread and it's very interesting but I have stopped playing all the hypothetical matchup arguments. It brings extreme opinions and I haven't watched pre 2000s tennis.

Joker’s definitely not infallible when it comes to pressure. I think the #NextGen players have wet the bed so much against him that it has inflated the perception of his mental strength. He’s tough but he’s definitely shown mental weakness plenty of times in his career.

He for sure plays for more than himself as he’s made Davis Cup, ATP Cup, and the Olympics big priorities far too often.

Dude, you made a thread about Joker’s big titles F record and correctly pointed out he hasn’t made an Olympic F.

You also included a video of him saying he’s won everything when he was asked what 1 title he could win if he had a choice. Both statements can’t be true. So you were correct when you said he hasn’t won the Olympics or even made the F. And he was wrong when he said he’s won everything. All I did was point pout that those statements are at odds.

Novak can be a bit forgetful about his record at times. He once told a French interviewer that he especially loved playing in France because that was where he won his 1st title, 2006 Metz. In fact that was his 2nd title as he had already won his maiden title at Amersfoort (a Dutch clay event) a few months earlier! :D
 
Djokovic played singles and doubles at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.
Played singles and mixed doubles at Tokyo 2020.

If an event occurs less frequently, one's success is less guaranteed even for GOAT.

And there are certain lessons Nole has yet to learn - "go for the doubles too".

Both statements are true. Olympics is very special case and many don't consider it a big title. Also there is barely a similarity between Olympics and rest of the big titles.

They aren’t true. The Olympics is a big title and Joker hasn’t won it or made the F. Therefore he hasn’t won everything. So his statement that he has won everything is true lol.

You’re right I am “detailing” because I’m using actual “details” to get things as accurately as possible. The Olympics is a big event. Joker hasn’t won it. Therefore Joker hasn’t won everything like he said he has.
 
The Olympics is a hot topic here because it's the only one he hasn't won twice. Lol. Good luck to future generations matching that record. Honestly, the Olympics is a great addition to your trophy cabinet and a nice bonus tournament but it shouldn't be looped in with calendar events that get played every year.

And I don't. Going back to the non Olympics level, Djokovic's win rate in MC is really bad. He has played there some 16 times or so.

I didn't mean you. I meant some of the comments in here. Djokovic's record at MC since 2015 is pathetic. Lol. At least he got 2 of them before his game changed to the point that the very slow surface no longer does anything for his game.

Yup, it's obviously ridiculous to compare an event that is played every year on the calendar with a "rare" event that players get to play only a few times in their careers.

Nobody brings up the fact Sampras didn't win the Olympics the same way they bring up he didn't win Roland Garros for a reason.

Djokovic's big event finals record is impeccable. He was lagging in French open and Cincinnati but now he has won 38% or higher at both. He won 3/4 of last rg finals and 3/3 of Cincinnati finals.
 
How many RGs would he have won without Nadal around? Man, we are going to miss it when the Big 3 era is fully over

It doesn't work like that. Why remove Nadal. If Djokovic was better he would win more that's all.

I have already moved on from fedal but when Djokovic retires it would be a little sad.

2 sets and a break up against Fed in the 2005 final (back in the days when the final was still Bo5) then he blew it. Never got so close again.

Miami is a bit for Rafa like Rome is for Fed. Neither ever got as close as in their very 1st finals against each other.
