Agree. If it was a BO3 I’d actually bet against him, but much like Rafa on Chatrier, he has waaaay too much time to figure it out vs pretty much everyone in 5.

No reason to bet against him for the title. Nadal has no shot at toppling him. Medvedev is the most dangerous hard court player and he still couldn't win the title without Novak around this year (and has basically been broken since blowing that final). Tsitsipas may never beat Novak again. Ruud and FAA don't have the firepower.
19 year old Alcaraz is the only wild card in the equation. But it's very hard to see him taking out Djokovic over Bo5 on Novak's favorite court unless Nole has a really bad day at the office, or another USO 21 occurs where players actually manage to drag out their matches and steal some sets off the old man along the way.

Don’t underestimate Raz, Sinner, FAA, Medvedev, Nadal, even Ruud. They are all underdogs in a direct head to head match but Djokovic will be hard pressed to beat, say, Medvedev, FAA, then Alcaraz in 3 consecutive matches.
The draw will matter a lot.

I’m going to be positive and say he wins it! He will be as motivated as ever and I feel he will deliver. It won’t be easy though and won’t be a surprised if he doesn’t but I back him 100%.

Also, no one since the big 3 have won consecutive slams, and I don't remember the last time a 19-20 year old did it. So even Alcaraz is highly unlikely

no one did win first slam in his career and then right after that second too back-to-back so no need to expect its gonna be tiny or ndal, we need to find the name of the winner outside those two names, kinda djoko and some two-three guys

True but if Alcaraz doesn't win Australia I don't think it'll be because of that. Especially with USO→AO having the biggest gap between slams. If he loses to Djokovic it'll simply be because Djokovic is better.
If he loses in the first week then it'll probably be a matter of new expectations weighing him down too much as the reigning slam champ and world #1 (which most new slam champs don't also have to deal with. Especially not teenagers.)

I’m positive but not over confident. A few players can beat him but I still feel he can be the king of melbourne at least another time and go for la decima. I’m hopeful but still respect all the young guys are improving and Nadal is still in the equation of course. The gap has narrowed but hoping Novak can find a way another time. It will be a fun tournament and just want all the best players there.Whoa....Settle down, lets not get carried away here.

I don't think Zverev is winning a slam in his coming back event, he isn't Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.
Dont think he will win it. Very hard at his age to go two weeks best of 5 with so many younger guys now hitting their peaks and who have experienced the big time. It is draw dependent like always but my guess would be semi final or quarter final. Also there will be a lot of unwanted press attention that will not help.

Djokovic is winning. Under normal circumstances there is absolutely no way he’s not winning the AO next year.

He's probably the favourite based on recent form, but not overwhelming so. He's not getting any younger after all, and a zoning youngster on the rise can take him out if he has an off day.

I think you and other guys are underestimating the field. Sinner, Alcaraz, Rune, FAA, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Kyrgios, Zverev etc. There are plenty players who can do some kind of damage vs. Novak imo. A tough draw with a couple of 4-5 setters could def. make him vulnerable.
That said, I still picked Novak to win as he has to be the clear favorite.

Cautiously optimistic that he will win it. But he is nearly 36 not 26 so who knows. Federer and Nadal won 2 slams at that age, so no reason to doubt Djokovic has a great chance to have a multi slam season next year as well. But it would not be the most surprising thing in the world if he gets upset somehow. On the other hand, it would not shock me if he goes on to win next 3 editions as it is likely he will be competitive at slams until the end 2025.
It is hard to see any top player taking 3 sets from him in Australia but I could kind of see him getting upset in a Simon 16/Istomin 17 type of a day match.

People like Alcaraz, Tsitsipas, FAA and others have yet to survive until they have a chance to meet Novak! You people act like their places in the quarters or semis is granted! LOL Like if didn'[t have enough examples when they choked o nthe first week of grand slams??...especially Alcaraz! Even in the circumstances, when Novak gets tough draw, it still has big chances of cleaning up and make things easier for him as tournaments progresses as it has been the case many times for the last couple of years and as i'm sure will be the case once again during AO next year! A lot of those youngsters, that are expected to make quarters, semis, finals will not live up to those expectations just like it's been happening in the past countless of times! Plus we don't know what level of tennis Novak will play at AO next year! He might as well play tennis at such a high level, that nobody regardless of age will be able to simply keep up and make him fight and lose energy, so it will be straight set whitewash instead!....in that case he won't have to worry about preserving energy for next matches!...
