Djokovic believes he is maybe in the best form of his career currently.

I think it's his "say it aloud and it will happen" kinda belief system.

It works for him, except when it doesn't; can't be upset then if people make fun and generally regard you as cocky.

If he has a thick skin and doesn't care for anything more than the records, good for him.

Again, even those records are not guaranteed just because everything looks good on paper. Life has a way of throwing wrinkles in our plans and that's the main reason for a healthy dose of humility, not to fake it for public consumption.

No one can assess that better than Djokovic himself. Incidentally, that is also my assessment. Even results suggests such conclusion; he won Cinnicinati which was more important than USO (2x9).
hmmm, masters more important than majors?

Well, he kind of did in the RG final. I was as shocked as Djokovic at seeing the extremely high level Nadal could still bring in the final at his age.
In my opinion, that was, by far, the best Nadal performance ever. Djokovic did not play badly at all; he was 8/10 (he was much better that in 2013 RG).

Whether you have 3 or 4 USO is not as big difference as whether you have 1x9 or 2x9.

I think we should know by now that Djokovic says this stuff all the time.
He constantly talks about goals , peaking for slams , motivated to break all records etc.

The guy needs to just be more humble like Nadal. The guy who just won a 20th slam but isn't shouting from the rooftops after all the experts claimed Djokovic would destroy him.

Its time Djokovic shut up .

If it is legal where I live, I’d like some of whatever he was smoking before he said this. Has he seen some of the videos of his matches this year and compared it to 2011 and 2015-1H2016 videos? Or even the 2019AO final?

It seemed like he struggled to stay intense and focused throughout many of his matches this year and just did enough to win while averaging one angry outburst per match. Especially in 2015-2016, he was just clinically destroying people and in 2011, he was out-hitting them.

he seems desperate to convince everyone how he is so great. I think he’s losing his mind because he is realizing that he will always be behind Fedal. :sneaky:
No kidding. Desperate sums it up nicely.

He wants to be loved so bad, yet it will never happen, no matter how many records.

Sad and pathetic.

Pretty delusional given the recent slam final encounters. By Recent Elo he's not even as good as his 2012-2014 period. I will say that his better first serve helps him at slams and Recent Elo doesn't really seperate that out though it does weight to slams because it looks at sets as well. Plus of course Elo is going to call the PCB match a loss.:sneaky: 2015 was his peak with Recent Elo of nearly 2800; currently he stands at 2523 which is a lot lowerer.

Djokovic currently at his best? He got bageled by a Nadal who wasn't even close to peak. Even Rafa's own fans were going on about how below par he was playing throughout the tournament. 2008/2010 Nadal would have dished out 3 bagels to this so called peak Djokovic!

Haters forget that Novak was tempering his form for US Open. Getting disqualified there messed that up but he bounced back winning Rome and making RG final.

Tempering, how?

Reality is he has a god-complex... who told him to organize the Adria tour and start a new players league just before a slam if those are his goals?

Seems like he wants to be everything, do everything and want it all at once- popularity, power, politics, be a savior and tennis results.

Sorry if the the people who don't buy into the fantasies he tells himself are 'haters' to you.

Novak may not hear this from the sycophant leeches that surround him, but he needs to be humbler in deed to achieve his goals.
