Well done Nole! Always thought someday it would happen, thougt it would be sooner but I think it's come at the perfect time.

Honestly I'm pretty surprised it took this long to clinch it considering how far ahead he is in both the race and points; but, if Rafa had ended number 1, it wouldve been comical; we all know that the guy with 3 majors is number 1, period.

Congratulations Novak! Nice to see someone not named Federer or Nadal up there once in a while.

It is proof of the badly flawed ranking system even on the mens side that Djokovic wasnt ensured of the #1 ranking after the U. S Open.
Thankfully the top men have been formidable enough to overcome the silly ranking system and the right person has pretty much always been at #1, while the WTA with an even worse ranking system combined with a lack of quality of late has led to tier 4 tournament hogs who get their ass kicked be everyone in the top 30 like Wozniacki at #1.

Man u ALWAYS got something up your butt! Maybe you should take picking lessons from Rafa!

What he said...

I know, I was almost expecting him to be declared world #1 after the US Open like Federer and Nadal had. Goes to show just how consistent Nadal has been this year that he prevented it until now.

It's fascinating to just read from bottom to top, that list of year-end number 1 players.

There's a lot of U.S. dominance there; now it's the domain of Europe. Will Del Potro have anything to say about that in the future? Or how about Tomic or Harrison?

P.s.

Here is a tribute to Djokovic winning Wimbledon...

Yeah yeah, it's another freaking one of my videos, sorry. Well you might like it anyway, I'm not harming anybody by putting it here =D

Also I'll remind you of the video which was released on the ATP site celebrating Novak becoming the World No.1 (this one IS NOT uploaded by me ;) )

Well if Rafa had won the USO it wouldve been two apiece, so yeah, it was expected but not certain, by any shot.

Nadal losing to Nole on grass which is Nole's worst surface by far told me that at the USO he would lose to Nole as well. We are not in 2008-2010 anymore. If he can't beat Nole at Wimbledon(first final for Nole, fifth final for Nadal) he sure as hell wasn't beating him at the USO.

Ironically, I think Nadal gave a better go of it at the USO. Sure, there wasn't any lopsided set win for Rafa, but it was higher level of tennis for the one he won.

I agree but I was referring to tennis, not ballet.
