My apologies, this might have been discussed previously thousands of times, but I did run few searches and could not find the answer.
I am trying for fun to imitate Djoker’s current setup on LM Radical MP (with old string pattern, obviously
) and I ran into two problems.
First is I don’t have the new twistweight. Does anybody know the actual twistweight of Novak’s current racket setup? Was anyone able to measure it on Briffidi SW1? I saw a lot of discussion about his twistweight being very high, and I was able to get the actual number of his previous setup from Tennis Spin video, where Harry measures twistweights of Novak’s, Rafa’s and Roger’s rackets on SW1, but I could not find any actual TW number of his current stick.
Second, it is not so clear how much to extend the racket. According to Tennisnerd the new length is 27.1 inches, which is in between 68.9 and 69 cm. Impacting Tennis spreadsheet list it as ~69cm as well. The problem is that in his old setup his racket was a bit short from stringing, since gut in the mains is strung by 1kg higher tension than the poly in crosses, and racket being rather soft shrinks to 68.2 cm from 68.6. Since he did not change the string setup, one can assume that the new racket would still shrink by 3-4 mm, if not a bit more, since he has less crosses now, 19 instead of 20, counteracting the same 18 mains. In that case to achieve 68.9 cm strung length, I should extend the racket by 7 mm (from 68.2). However, Tennisnerd also mentioned in video reviewing Novak’s racket that the new one might be stiffer, in which case it may not shrink at all from stringing, in which case one should extend it just by 3 to 4mm. Anyone knows which is the case here? I think this will affect the tune up to his specs, so it seems important to know.
