Djokovic endorsement earnings

What is the breakdown of Djokovic's endorsement earnings?
It seems to rival Nadal each year.

Off court earning of Novak in 2021 - $30M
Off court earning of Rafa in 2021 - $23M

Why is Nadal trailing Djokovic in endorsement earnings? I know both are way below Federer in endorsements.

Here's your source with Djokovic earning massive $20M off court and Nadal earning just $25M in comparison.

OP is clearly a Nadal fan pretending to be a Djokovic fan trying to make Djokovic fan base look bad. Don't take the bait, TTW.

Sure, but Federer made $90M, and Djokovic had been hardly playing this year, and Nadal won two slams including his historic AO.
I am not trolling, I just am curious about the sources of income for endorsements.

I'd rather want to know how in the world Osaka makes 50+ million $ per year, ranked behind Federer.

Rarely have I seen someone elss likeable with absolute boring personality. I'd get why Coco Gauff would make that much eventually. She's fun, sociable, entertaining on court...but Osaka? Absolute snoozefest in all possible ways

The earnings are from 2021 included when Nadal didn't play half the season. You know it and yet you come here to make Djokovic look less compared to Nadal. I can see through your agenda.

In some years Djokovic earns more than Nadal, and even in 2022, where Nadal is ahead, Djokovic is only training by a bit, but not by $65M from Federer.

Federer is far ahead of them both in earnings. There's no comparison with him. Djokovic probably lost a couple of deals post the vaccine saga which may have lost him a few millions, I guess. Maybe that explains if he's earning less than usual.

But still rivals Nadal.

It makes sense. Djokovic was no.1 for so long, playing a regular schedule, making many finals. Lots of exposure for sponsors. Lives and trains in MC where many wealthy people have money to spend on products. The question should be why isn’t he earning so much more? Considering Nadal is well past his peak and gives sponsors much less exposure, he’s doing really well. But Djokovic? He should be earning more. I wonder why he isn’t.

Japanese have this weird celebrity worship culture. There was a whole cottage industry in seattle that catered to all the Japanese tourists when Ichiro started playing for the mariners.

So players like Nishikori and Osaka are worth YUGE money to companies in Japan. When I make it big, my plan is to somehow claim Japanese heritage.

That has been going on for years now. Djokovic is 2nd highest earning tennis player behind Federer for many years now, on few sporadic occasions has Nadal been the 2nd, but overall Djokovic takes the cake.

The great and popular Nadal maybe isn't as popular as people want to make out?

Endorsement is given to superhuman not machines and Djokovic is more like machine so despite being fit and no 1 most time still market doesn’t see him as too great to invest in

Nadal and Djokovic are always competitive to each other in terms of endorsement money.

Djokovic is pretty popular in Asian, large parts of Europe, and South America.

Exactly my point as well. Nadal might get more cheers than Novak in the stadiums but their stardom is very similar overall, Nadal made lot of fans before Novak in 2005-2010 perid but from 2011 the way Novak dominated he has narrowed down the gap to very small margins, they are both effectively same now in fans with maybe Nadal having a small lead(?), but some Rafans are saying Nadal vs Novak gap is as massive as Federer vs these 2, that is so ridiculous.
Yes, the US does not represent the entire world.

You’re focusing on the wrong people. There’s a world number 100+ with her CH being 10 earning just $2m shy of Djokovic. Let’s talk about that.

Nadal is a semi retired tennis player since years and isn’t even close to his peak but still wins slams since he is a freak of nature but Djokovic has been no 1 for so long enters 75% tournaments as favourite since a decade but still is just no way close to other sports huge money makers who are leaders of there sport

Just about in every sport, GOAT athletes make more money. Lebron, Messi/Ronaldo makes the most money.

Who cares who earns the most? They're all rich as hell, for me I have to work so hard just to earn minimum wage. Why can't I be rich?
Exactly, one thing is to idolize them (which is fine for the kids) but another thing is to admire their fortune and come out in their defense, which I find absurd.

Like for real, it's not like as a fan you get a part of their earnings or trophies they win. Whether they win or lose, it's not a part of our lives and they don't even know we exist.

It makes me laugh (and pity at the same time) when there are guys who live vicariously through people they'll never meet and care little or nothing about the mundane lives of their fans around the world.

What do I care!

Sadly a lot of fans of celebs have no lives or very depressing ones, that they actually believe that their idol knows they exist and that their opinions count to them. Some are even delusional enough to make up what they do in their lives.

I don't blame today's technological tools so much for that (although the "old school" may refute that), but rather the poor formal, civic, and spiritual education that these individuals have had throughout their lives and that has prevented them from being to be more proactive, enterprising and autonomous in order to benefit the community that surrounds them.
I think they have not developed their emotional intelligence as it should and that is very sad if you think about it deeply.

Agreed. Osaka is perhaps the most unlikable player in the history of the WTA.

If you think about it, most people live their lives through the internet. Without it they're nothing, sadly I'm one of them.

He's not. Since around 2015, a huge portion of Rafa's sponsorship money - many many many millions from the international corporation called Movistar - has gone to his Academy. So much money they even have naming rights like major stadiums do - Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar. In the end it all ends up in Rafa's pocket so he doesn't care who gets credited for it.

I have already explained in another thread that Rafa is a businessman and in addition to making endorsement money through his personal sponsorship deals, he also makes money via his academy’s sponsorship agreements (these endorsements are not included in his personal endorsements). His academy, owned by him, has a lot of sponsors (Movistar is the title sponsor, as already said):

She's Japanese. Even Nishikori is up there alongside the big 3 in terms of endorsements. Japan massively supports their athletes. That's why Osaka gets so many big sponsors.

People get the perception that Nadal is much more popular than Djokovic because he is in some of the traditionally dominant tennis markets. But Djokovic still had quite a lot of fans in the west, if not as many, while being quite a bit ahead in Asia and EE

Quite a bit of Nadal detractors in China and other parts of Asia. They probably do not like Nadal's gamesmanship, unlike people in the US.

From Forbes. Looks like a combination of good business partnerships and popularity. The people posting on TTW are mostly men. Women are more than 50% of the population.

Osaka has been bothered by back, abdominal and Achilles injuries and has seen her world ranking slip to 44th. But she’s a marketing powerhouse, endorsing nearly 20 brands, including recent additions FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange, and Modern Health, a mental health platform. In May, Osaka and her longtime agent Stuart Duguid founded a sports agency, Evolve, soon signing Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios as a client. In June, she started a media company called Hana Kuma in partnership with LeBron James’ SpringHill Company, and her skincare line Kinlò, launched last September, recently started appearing on Walmart shelves and announced endorsement deals with five college athletes.

I haven't checked, but it seems that the majority of Osaka's sponsors are Japanese, and since she is a star there, along with Nishikori, these numbers make sense.
