Djokovic has aged incredibly well in terms of physical appearance

I have to say that the guy looks very much the same at 34 as he did at 17. Never had an issue with acne like Fed and Nadal did earlier in life. His skin is incredibly smooth and healthy. Still has a full head hair (looks like black bear fur, a couple grey hairs but this doesn't matter for men). Both Nadal and Federer lost a good 1/3rd to 1/2th of their hair by their mid-30s (Fed's was more like hairline recession and easier to cover up with headband, where Nadal's was more like diffuse thinning on the entire top). So did Sampras, McEnroe, Roddick, of course Agassi, have noticeable hair loss by the time they reached 30. Nadal looks a ton different than he did when he was half his age. The sun exposure gave him a lot of wrinkles and freckles and uneven skin tone, and his face got fatter which detracts from his high cheek bones. Federer's nose grew (it's a sad fact of life that noses and ears never stop growing). Djokovic was blessed with Serbian genetics and has an obsessively healthy diet and fitness routine which is doing wonders for him. Sure, everyone gets older, but Novak is one of the fortunate ones who only looks about 1% older each year.

Djokovic is probably diligent about using sunscreen whereas many tennis players who should know better don’t use it enough because they think they are Superman when they are young. When you see old tennis players and surfers from the Seventies who spent a lot of time outdoors before sunscreen use was common, their skin looks twenty years older than their age and many unfortunately develop skin cancer also.

I think most tennis players don't age that well because of the excessive sun exposure. And while Novak does seem to be built to age well genetically, he did not use this potential to the max. Most definitely you wouldn't confuse teen Djokovic with his 28+ self.

Weight fluctuations have also played a part in why his face looks older. He doesn't naturally have a lot of fat in the face and when he becomes leaner his skin sags visibly.

When you look at pictures of Srdjan (and his hair) it really shouldn’t surprise you. Novak is going to have that hairline until he is 95.

Aside from the hair I don’t feel he is at all different than Nadal or Federer in aging.

Nah it's not only the hair. I agree I think his hairline will never recede significantly, though I'm pretty sure I've seen some white hair. His face looks much smoother than Federer and Nadal I think.

Actually other than hair loss, Nadal has aged much better than Djokovic. He has far better skin and fewer age lines and that's despite spending far more time in the sun

Nadal looks years younger in the same lighting.

Nah, man. Just look at Nadal in 2012 :

Then look at Djokovic in 2012 :

Any other year works. It’s not just the hair loss, Nadal got thinner and gained a lot of face wrinkles. Djokovic changed, of course, but barely. I will always remember that image :

How about a different photo from 2021?

Yes, and other than male pattern hair loss that has plagued Nadal for over 10 years, Nadal looks younger. Nice ultra low res photo anyway. Here's the same photo in HD where you can see Djokovic's far more pronounced crows feet:

That's true. They just want his run to last forever that's all. He looks mid thirties alright, though clearly aged better than his rivals imo.

This. Like me he looks great for mid 30s ;)
But to say I look like I did 15 years ago (or him) is a lie lol.

Meh, he has aged about as well as the average 34-year-old is expected to. Fast-forward another two decades and see if you're still singing the same tune.

If you want a better example of an ATP player aging gracefully look instead to/at Stich:

Had never understood what the ladies saw in him until I came across that pic. Stunning, really.

On the WTA side there's of course Gabby:

The (semi-)chandelier locks flatter or at least help conceal her square jawline, and that LBD was a killer. Dunno what she does with her skin (I'm guessing she's one of those naturals) but she's obviously taken good care of it (from her 2015 exo at MSG with Seles, presumably):

You're welcome.

You're welcome.

Michael Stich turned from "yes, sir" to "yes, daddy".

Don't forget stress people

It can make you look 900% older

Sampras look younger these days than in his playing days
